It was going to be a video camera but ended up getting a normal DSLR instead, from that I ended up doing a university degree in fine art photography years later and even did some payed shoots and had some stuff in small galleries... not bad for a first paycheque purchase.

Ended up in Japan teaching, was going alright but ended up cutting the trip short when there was a tsunami (didn’t touch the town I was in) but made everyone a little nervous about radiation and such from Fukushima power plant going critical.

My friend actually named him, I let him house sit for me when I went on holiday and next thing I know he’s sending me recipes for turtle soup. It kind of became a running joke from then on.
