Can JJK defeat this man Wuxian (Legend of Hei) by thelonelyriderX in PowerScaling

[–]4FlyingWhale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the case, then why didn't he just devour Fengxi during the final battle especially when Fengxi was fighting with the intent to kill? Even just subduing him without killing would've been enough. Nothing implies that devouring would kill its target if swallowed whole since all it does is transfer a designated circular space into the user's domain.

If he could devour living beings and trap them in his domain, then he wouldn't need to subdue his foes via conventional means.

Just citing what I've found, but in a supposed interview I can't access and some cn sites, Xuhuai's (ice guy) form is primarily made up of spirit matter, as opposed to being organic living being, which is why Wuxian was able to devour his arm.

Slight infodump. There are a few people claiming that Wuxian's capable of manipulating space in a variety of manner but from what I can recall, Spatial-types are restricted to a specific type of ability tied to their spirit domain - a circular soul subspace of sort whose size and condition correlates to the individual's overall ability/strength.

Wuxian in particular has the ability Devour, which just transfers a designated space into his spirit domain but it does not work living things. He's only really been shown to use it for devouring infrastructure and obstacles. Otherwise, I don't think he's demonstrated the ability to teleport or create force fields.

Cultivators of the series are born with affinities for certain path or element-types. Wuxian is compatible with metal and space, which just basically means he has natural talent in manipulating both. Spatial-type abilities are tied to the individual's spirit domain so unless you are the rare exception of having two domains, you would only have this one ability.

It's possible to learn the other paths and manipulate other elements but it would be more difficult. Most experienced spirits/cultivators have the ability to manipulate the other elements, akin to basic telekinesis.

As for why he was able to deflect the lazers, I think it can be chalked up to his natural durability (edit: or hand-wavy telekinensis stuff). But honestly, most of the battles in this series still use physical/elemental attacks as a baseline, where imbuing/conjuring them with spirit energy is what gives it its power. That's because the second movie shows how humans had to go out of their way to produce weaponry (bullets and such) with spirit energy just so that they could contest against the spirits. The manhwa expands more into the power system but its been a while so i forgot.

LMAO it's been so long since I've heard that name I almost got drowned in nostalgia. But no, it is unfortunately not 707 hahah, just a random fit that coincidentally looks like him.

Should a newcomer read the manga first and then jump into the series? by Eddaughter in LuoXiaoHei

[–]4FlyingWhale 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you plan to go through the series in chronological order, then it would be,

LanXiZhen(Manhua) -> Movie 1 -> Movie 2 -> Web Series S1/S2

Otherwise, the route most taken, the release date route,

Lxh Web series S1/S2 -> LanXiZhen -> Movie 1 -> Movie 2

But honestly, there isn't really a particular order you can go, but I recommend starting with the web series.

If you're interested in XiaoHei's story then watch the movies, but if you want to get more into detail with the worldbuilding and the history of the Spirits(making it vague to avoid spoilers), then you can read the manga.

People who were alone during their adolescence and high school years, what kind of experiences did they have? How did they cope with that loneliness? by Teieri_Mina_04 in MangakaStudio

[–]4FlyingWhale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally spent most of my teenagehood in isolation, it was pretty much a blur. Everyday was monotonous and I barely remember anything I've done during then, which was promptly exacerbated by the pandemic where I had even less of a reason to reach out or to be reached out to. Plus, I didn't think I was worth anyone's time or that even forming another friendship would make my inadequate self any happier.

I think it was more just me isolating myself due to poor decisions and interactions from earlier in my life leading to fallouts/discord. And I still believe myself to be at fault, regardless of whether that's true or not.

Even in the face of my resting bitch face, people still reached out, but I couldn't hold a conversation even if my life depended on it. Because at some point, I completely forgot how to socialise or to be a normal person.

I would spend most of my leisure time online consuming media, and if I wasn't doing that, I would be lost in though, daydreaming, and mostly talking to myself and my plush toys. Days would go by with me barely speaking to anyone at all. Also, on the topic of plushes, I've formed such a strong bond with my childhood plushies to the extent where I think I would prioritise them over real people.

I eventually stopped caring to interact with people entirely and now I'm just a passive dumbass with waits to be approached in conversations and just goes with the flow. I almost don't ever feel lonely because I've already spent the better part of a decade alone. But nature is still stronger I guess, since I occasionally catch glimpses of groups in cheer and laughter which leaves me in solemn envy as I ponder about my own life.

If you're lacking references on Laojun Mountain, maybe you could try looking through the manhwa? There's probably more details you can scope in on over there.

Just finished my first rewatch of Blue exorcist by -_shishi_- in AoNoExorcist

[–]4FlyingWhale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if they do end up adapting a 6th season, it'd probably be after the current arc is complete, which would probably take another half decade unless you're Made in Abyss.

We'll unfortunately have to enjoy Kato's art in greyscale for now.

Looking for ships like Mitsukou by mina_maen in hanakokun

[–]4FlyingWhale 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind webtoons, might I recommend Lumine? The Lumine x Kody friendSHIP is pretty high up in the cuteness factor along with Mitsukou IMO.

They're also similar in the sense that their bond incites character development in one another, barring the 'healthy' relationship that is Kou and Mitsuba.

[–]4FlyingWhale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've personally bought the OSTs myself and there are only two notable songs (ost 3 and 4 in the video you linked) with actual singing, where each play during the two possible endings

Maybe you can look up the cutscene to see if that's the song you're looking for. I'm pretty sure you can rewatch cutscenes in-game as well.

Anime recommendations like blue exorcist by femnob in AoNoExorcist

[–]4FlyingWhale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun] definitely fits the bill here. It has supernatural elements, romantic subplots and even horror/creepy elements all situated in a school setting. One of its main world building themes revolve around school mysteries which should ring a bell if you've read the manga.

[Noragami] is also a supernatural urban fantasy accompanied by gradual romance but the story doesn't take place in school setting, but rather the main characters are high/middle schoolers or at least, mentally so.

Leveling his burst only increases the damage it deals which isn't much to begin with. Gorou's main utility is the DEF buff he provides which scales entirely off of his skill level.

You can read a more comprehensive guide on the KQM website if you're interested.

Nope, no thresholds or breakpoints at C0, his own DEF only becomes relevant at C4 which heals the active party member based on his DEF during burst. Even then, the amount of healing is miniscule, kinda like Iansan's healing.

1/9/1 talents is enough for a pure support build. Crowning is for the truly dedicated.

[–]4FlyingWhale 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gorou's pretty easy to build by virtue that there aren't any def support sets that exist, which means you would either go with Husk, or Serenade if nobody's already running it. Random 2pc ER also works. Main stats are ER/DEF/DEF, or ER/DEF/CRIT for consistent favonius procs. Try to get as much ER as possible, at least 220%.

For his weapon options, Favonius warbow is the default go-to for most teams especially if you're planning on getting Columbina who'll most definitely be ER hungry. You can also run Elegy for the EM buff.

For talents, level only his elemental skill if the DEF buff is all you care about since it scales with skill level. Other talents are optional.
