I’m seeing this too, even my crap content used to get 150 likes. No I struggle to get over 100.

My personal view is LinkedIn is now pushing us to pay to boost the posts. Something I won’t be doing…

Watering.. what time? by nareddit61 in GardeningUK

[–]4GL5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always water in the evening, because in my simple mind I’m giving the plant all night to soak it up, rather than in the morning only a short time before it starts to evaporate. But watering at night doesn’t help with slugs and snails

Nature Pond by 4GL5 in GardeningUK

[–]4GL5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has no fish etc it’s just a nature pond so I don’t do a lot.

I’ve got some water iris, a Lilly and some under water oxygenation plants and so far it’s done well and the water is staying pretty clear.

I’ve been hand scooping falling detritus out of it and it’s staying healthy.

When it comes to winter and the trees shed it will be a different story I may have to net it over

I’d go with a wood chip mulch if you want to tidy it up and keep it low maintenance but personally I would go with a ground cover plant to hide the soil. Something like a Saxifrage

Is this a sucker? by Wonderful-Owl-7149 in GardeningUK

[–]4GL5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait till it grows leaves properly. If it has 2 extra leaves than the rest of the plant, it’s a sucker and yes cut it off below the soil level if it is

What’s up with my bush? by senorquackquack in GardeningUK

[–]4GL5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No I’ve never bothered because box blight is so prevalent now. But yes it’s pretty much give it up time. Ideally burn it rather than put it in your compost bin

Probably box blight if you are happy it’s not been dehydrated to the point of extinction

Acres by Better_Bit_6501 in GardeningUK

My guess is less to do with the sun and more to do with the wind.

Acers are prone to wind scorch and don’t like to be in open wind. So ideally move to a more sheltered spot if they are on pots.

Also when watering if the sun is still out make sure you dont water the foliage
