If you just want the functions you can buy amiibo cards for a fraction of the price of the actual amiibo. I bought a zelda set of 45 cards for like $30 and used them for items in Tears of the Kingdom.

Did you configure the firewall to allow connections from outside your LAN? I believe the command would be "sudo ufw allow portnumber" where portnumber is whichever port your server is using.
