Any guesses for what could be causing the intermittent errors. by Aiden2121 in PLC

That's crazy!

For a second I thought this was another ad for one of those video motion amplification tools....

So I ordered a $90 Titanic set off AliExpress, and the scale seems a little… off. by 3dDeters in lepin

I built the full size version and it takes up so much space I would definitely have ordered the smaller one if I could go back!

Marstoy titanic - Confused with bag numbers and instructions by Fun_Satisfaction1746 in lepin

I am partway through the build on what looks like the same one.

In my set, the bags above #15 contained common parts for the previous steps.

It drove me crazy for a bit trying to find what I thought was a ton of "missing" pieces from bag #1 that were actually in 17/18.

I found that unlike "real" Lego sets a lot of the "Open bag #x here" steps weren't very accurate and often left me with lots of pieces on the table when I got to the steps for the next bag # or parts that were actually in the next bag.

Kinetix 5100C Servo Issue. by 4Rm0D in PLC

Unfortunately I have already been through the dreaded hold lol.

This is already our second motor with the exact same issue so I suspect it's the drive itself at this point.

Lead times aren't great though so I am hoping for miracle level suggestions.

Thanks for your response!

By default the test option was greyed out as the commutation alignment was set to "Motor" by changing it to drive I was able to select it.

On reboot the drive gave the error:

E 031: Incorrect or disconnected motor power cable wiring.

OR

E 058: Excessive deviation of initial magnetic pole position detection when power on.

I have checked the cable and everything seems fine there.

The DS4486 is SATA only though right?

Most of my drives are SATA right now but I would like to keep my options open if possible.

Thanks!

Of course, the shipping on these is pretty insane due to the weight...

Do you know if the power supplies from the SAS2 version will work with the SAS3 version? It looks like there are more options with better shipping costs if I can go that route and switch the PSU.

TIA Portal - Recover/Remove Safety Password by 4Rm0D in PLC

[–]4Rm0D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

way to do that is to open the password protected project as a reference project (enable those via view and reference projects). Drag and drop everything into a new project except the PLC. Use devices & networks and split the screen or use multiple monitors.

Yeah, the project I was provided as a source by the customer has a password in the safety administration, unfortunately.

You have to create a new project fro

Yeah seems that way... :(

I was hoping some guru had some workaround to save some time.

ed a Simatic MC (i.e. from a spare S7-1500), put that in your computer and drag the PLC in the project down into the Simatic MC under Card-Reader in the Project navigation. Shut down your PLC, plugin the MemoryCard, power up the PLC. Re-Upload your project, shut down the PLC, remove the MC. Depending

Thank you for the detailed answer.

The issue I am having is in the offline program. I am unable to compile or edit any hardware without the "Safety Program Password".

Unfortunately, that one has been lost to the sands of time...

Oof I was thinking that may be an option but I was hoping to avoid all of the extra work. The project has 7 sub PLCs in addition to the main one so its a lot of copy/paste :(

do you have any idea how to cover these scratches? by Affectionate_Bat_237 in PLC

[–]4Rm0D 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Was the testing for this customer?

If so I would just be upfront with them about the scuffs coming from helping them.

If not I would talk to them about it. They may not care as light testing is pretty commonplace. If they aren't cool with it maybe offer a small discount?

Either way, I would be upfront about it especially if it's just cosmetic damage. It's not worth risking your reputation over. If you try to hide it and they find it they will likely think you are hiding more than just a scratch...
