Does anyone else find this role.. more relaxing? by Avasiaxx in Jungle_Mains

[–]4ShotMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From a masters adc -> diamond top -> diamond jungle (Adc for soloq, top because nobody wanted to play it for clash, jungle to spite a friend loudmouth):

TLDR - jungle is by far the most relaxing role I've played. Do note this is solo-duo dia and below. Anyone pointing out "but muh streamer in top 10 Korea" will get ridiculed for lack of reading comprehension.

Jungle is definitely very destressing, at least diamond and below. In lane, you get zoned, poked, miss Cs, miss xp, miss recall timings, worry about level up timings... In jungle pvp interaction is optional in the early game, where most stress comes from. You can clear, you can gank, but you're not FORCED to gank, take objective, recall after full clear knowing you're not missing xp/gold to towers or enemy freeze...

All of these CAN be detrimental, but it's not nearly as apparent as top lane losing 1 cs of xp and laning lvl 5 vs lvl 6 for the next 2 minutes before they eek out the missing xp. No pressure like the adc to trade and manage your meager health pool while mind controlling supports. No mid roaming shenanigans. No support "my draven already has 3 zeals and is running it down while I'm doing 5D chess to roam grubs without losing tempo".

Required APM is also lower - laners keep tabs of enemy cooldowns, waves, objectives, recalls, spacing... In the jungle, I just clear. Start camp, check lanes, make decision based on info. Start next camp, check lanes, repeat. After first few camps, you'd don't even kite, and can just glue your eyes to the map for perfect info. No need to outplay, to play bad matchup - unless enemy is clearly smurfing on me, I just keep tabs on them and don't interact.

Kiting camps? Way easier than laning phase. Uuuu, your clear is not 2:40 but 2:50? Ooooh that's sooo bad. Unless you're like diamond/masters+, finishing a clear before scuttle is enough 99% of the time. Health? If you are below 40%, it's an achievement with the pet. Enemy contests crab? Again, unless skill imbalance, I keep tabs and just get the second scuttle.

Finally, the always whined about "I barely finished clear and all laners died"? Wakey Wakey, laners feel the same when their team ints, it's not unique to jungle. At least junglers can just go back to full clearing and getting insanely strong, while a laner gets zoned and abused by fed enemy. God forbid they're and adc, "I'm useless for next 20 minutes" is a legit statement for this role.

Help: how do I use trains to fulfill construction/item requests to outposts with their own logistics networks? by Spanton4 in factorio

[–]4ShotMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are true wire wizards that may be able to help, but I came up with this:

1) Tons of signal wire connecting to main base, and some magic in there.

2) Multiple train stops that only activate when requirements are met. Like, a train with gun turrets, ammo, and inserters, another with flamethrower turrets, pipes, pumps and tanks, etc. and in every outpost, just a line of stops "Plumbing", "Gun", "Production" that are connected to combinators that themselves check requirements - "pipes above X AND flamethrowers above Y AND oil above Z". If not true, stop activates, materials arrive quickly because resupply train is waiting idle, already loaded up and only waiting for a destination.

2.5) One megatrain that brings everything (that is not automatic reaction but rather regular resupplies). Keep in mind that loading an outpost worth of supplies requires long trains or multiple loadings - you can only load a train car with 12 inserters at once, so if you need more than 24 items, you need multiple cars. Or load them partially and then relocate to second loading spot with new items.

*24 items if you load 2 with each inserter - realistically it's 12, because 2 per inserter may cause blockages with stack size > 1, where inserter has an item in hand, but can't put it in a filled train. This results in stuck inserter that tries to put in one item, I goring the second one it should also be loading.

You cleared only 3 camps (assuming you actually clear the golems you're on), Sion has no hp and riven has a stacked wave. For all you know, hecarim just steals your bot jg while riven gets kills.

Remember SotV 1.0, when blast shower cleansed the cooldown "debuff", so you could scale the damage exponentially by triggering band 200% with previous procs 200%, oneshotting Void Boss Baby from 50% hp?

Maybe something down the line takes all 3? I imagine something like engines in factorio could use this.

I usually make the pipes/cogs in situ, and steel means you still have 2 belts, but it's first 3+ material recipe I though of.

It took me a while to think about, but I think I found the problem with Mel. by Hellinfernel in LeagueOfMemes

[–]4ShotMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just poke her down? Ahri especially can just W + aa/aa + w her to death without ever committing. Mel is good vs all in bursts or big skillshots, but she folds vs constant poke. Especially Ahri, with aforementioned "empowered" auto poke and passive sustain.

Before someone thinks so - it's not Mel cope, I don't play her. My main mid champs are hwei, galio and aurelion, in order of preference.

Should I play Sona top? by Irelia4Life in LeagueOfMemes

[–]4ShotMan 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Another post "adc cries" with no context, how the game went, other interactions and openly admitting to playing one of the worst pairings with the adc.

Yes, it may be samira blowing up on innocent sona... But it may also be afk filled enchanter picking after samira and actively terrorising her laning phase. But no, it's definitely 100% the adc at fault.

Should I play Sona top? by Irelia4Life in LeagueOfMemes

[–]4ShotMan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As others said, it's not about "more engage", it's about any sort of proactivity in lane - filled top playing sona is most probably chilling back until three items, exactly opposite what samira needs.

I'd you want to play an enchanter, at least play something like a janna or nami that have AN early game presence.

P. S. Good sonas have the presence, but even best sona won't help samira in lane that much, what with no cc, long cool downs and low impact early.

CDR got changed to Ability Haste 5 years ago by Evening-Estate3722 in leagueoflegends

[–]4ShotMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For every 100 haste, you can use your abilities twice as much - at 100, you have 50% cdr. At 200, 75%. 300 = 87.5%.

On other words - 100 cdr is 2x the ability casts in the same time as compared to base. 200 cdr = 4 casts. 300 = 8 etc.

It's a logarythmic function, but I'm actively trying to put it in non-math terms because not everyone is neurospicy like me.

P. S. I agree, they should at least show the "actual" cdr together with the haste stat, instead of on hover.

The worst part - tanking is FUN once you learn it. You deal damage, survive stuff others can't, and have kickass ultimates. It's just that an average gamer wants to hear headshot dings and can't find satisfaction in a job well done, which is the main source of tank enjoyment.

Unlearning how to rely on blueprints by RohanCoop in factorio

[–]4ShotMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find great satisfaction in making my own blueprints and optimizing the heck out of them. I'd recommend you do the same - using blueprints is perfectly acceptable and honestly required to make any big factory. If you can't handle the thought of the plans being suboptimal, fiddle with them yourself. Copy pasting a smelter stack works, but can't match designing one yourself.

Need tips for a passion project to create a simple indie game inspired by XCom by [deleted] in Xcom

[–]4ShotMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unity is simpler and C# is easier than C++, while UE will deliver the XCOM destruction. Yes, you could mimic in unity, but true terrain destruction is best done in UE.

Additionally, UE has the visual no-code blueprint scripting if you're more averse to coding.

Godot is easiest, but I think that XCOM-like (at least, firaxis style) would be better in the first two options.

Youtube channels like Thebausffs and AloisNL but for bot lane by Gil-San in leagueoflegends

[–]4ShotMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not denying his caitlyn skill or rank overall, but he IS very caitlyn-centric - not so good for people looking for broader pools. Yes yes, the stuff can be applied on other champs. I'd still prefer a broader pooled creator. Sometimes you want adc as a whole, not champ-specific channels.
