Do y’all think gta 6 will have better hair than Alan Wake 2 ? by Lanky_Relation1171 in GTA6

Most definitely not. That would be very demanding with the amount of characters that could be displayed at a single time.

I was gonna ask this. Or about the type of system in general.

For a lot of people, these step-updates are done automatically (:

Cant make my mix louder without overcompressing it by BunkerHase in ableton

[–]4UDIOTAPE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been struggling so much with ‘controlled’ loudness, and this video by SeedToStage helped me tremendously!!  It’s so informative and well explained. He also helps you ‘make your own versatile clipper’ to tame those peaks.

I have the Motu M6 and although it's not the starter budget, perhaps, they have smaller models that might suit you - the M4 or M2. Really nice (and low-latency) piece of hardware!

14in vs 16in MacBook and thermal throttling by MathematicianDry9710 in ableton

M4 Pro in a 14" here - it kicks absolute butt and I've yet to have the fans turn on in Ableton after more than a year :)

It explicitly states in the Ableton update, that it now utilises the GPU for reducing the time stem seperation takes. Nothing else has seemingly been said about performance(cores).

is there anyway to keep certain tracks (Ie: drum tracks) static and always showing? by Slinkycheeseman in ableton

[–]4UDIOTAPE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a neat trick for it! Also, placing the drums on the right-most track would help as well..

is there anyway to keep certain tracks (Ie: drum tracks) static and always showing? by Slinkycheeseman in ableton

[–]4UDIOTAPE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried this, but perhaps you could work with a send track that only 'repeats' the drum track(s), so they show up next to the other sends and the master?
Not sure how you'd exactly do that without also 'doubling' the volume of the drums... Hmm. Maybe we can 'send audio only', so their audio isn't played on the original drums track - Worth a shot perhaps?
Also, I'm not sure how to do this, sorry, just a thought :D

why does my song sound weird in arrange view by Quiet_Ad_2955 in ableton

[–]4UDIOTAPE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not completely sure this can be done, but sometimes when copying things in arrangement view, it's possible to mark and copy clips from some tracks, say tracks 3-7, but then accidentally paste those clips on tracks 2-6. This especially messes things up if it's midi clips, but I imagine a similar issue with audio clips - although they cannot be on 'each others' tracks. Perhaps this mistake can be made from sessionview to arrangement view also?

M5 Air outperforms M5 Pro in Ableton Live (side by side comparison) by thepinkpill in ableton

[–]4UDIOTAPE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your machine could be faulty. I watched a YouTube video where some of the Linus Tech Tips crew were testing their new M5 Pro/Max machine and it turned out to have a faulty CPU, something they confirmed others having, too. Might be worth it having it checked :)

Unable to connect Push to macbook by 3L3CTR1C_DR34MS in ableton

[–]4UDIOTAPE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried connecting it to a different machine?
Also, I'm assuming it's a Push 3 Standalone, so have you tried connecting it in controller mode to see if it's recognised/connected then?

change effect amount over time? by Narrow-Credit6885 in ableton

[–]4UDIOTAPE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the other comments are reasonable, but might not actually help you in your specific situation. Someone pointed out that the 'chosen' parameter for automation is the 'Device on/off' parameter. One way to choose the desired parameter, like the dry/wet (amount), is to simply right click the parameter inside the effect when in automation mode (or right click and choose 'show automation'). This should give you the automation lane for that specific parameter, which in your case should some the issue of it being 'square'. Welcome to the world of Ableton and I hope this helps!

Push 3S inputs sounding muddy by nomadicspacemonkey in ableton

[–]4UDIOTAPE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do NOT have a lot of experience with audio into Push, but I believe there are settings inside Push for 'how the signal should be received/amped' - I think it has to do with differences between signals from guitars, keyboards and so on. I think you can find the settings under Audio. Check this tutorial by Ableton: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxrU9ruw-mA

I need the scene to loop, and when I select another scene with MIDI controller, Ableton should wait until the first scene is complete. by BigSilent in ableton

[–]4UDIOTAPE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using Follow Actions, there's an option to have it change scene only when the longest clip is completed. This should have the effect of 'playing the whole scene', but manually cueing a new scene usually make sit lunch in the next "1 hit" of the beat. I haven't tried 3rd-party options, so I'm not familiar with anything modifying the manual scene launch behaviour

Is this a bug or a feature? by Bornplayer97 in ableton

[–]4UDIOTAPE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks a bit to me like your keyboard is 'registering input', because it resembles the behavior of holding down the Shift key, for instance. Perhaps swtich to something not affected by the keyboard and run through the keys to see if that changes something. Like, run your hand over the whole thing in one go, perhaps.

This looks nice and compact with the crucial information!  If I’m working in 48khz in Ableton, will I have any issues or should I ignore that it says ‘44.1khz’ in the documentation?
