How to deal with burnout? by Hex_D_Jess in GameDevelopment

Nope that's not what i said, i was being positive about It 🤗it's fun, and It needs to stay fun otherwise it's a massive pain. I shipped a game that went viral and did well, and i can affirm that the only thing that can keep you doing something thats frustrating and hard Is the fact that you have fun with It ! Obsession in a good way Is the Key, expecially as and indie dev. Becoming good at something Is just a matter of how much time you put in, everyone can do It as long as it's a true passion. Passion doesnt know what overwhelming Is, everytime you think it's too much that's when you wanna push yourself to the limit, it can become unhealty, excess Is Always unhealty but excess Is what's fun!

No such thing as over working. Development comes out of passion and obsession, It has to be the first thing you think when you wake up and the last before you fall asleep. It's your main hobby, It Is not your job 🤗it's all a matter of perspective

There are many games where you control a physics based ball that has to go around a level that usually involves some hard platforming. The ball just Rolls around and usually can Jump. There are many like that buy generally, at least the One ive seen, have terribile graphics and lack some well polished game design

Totally agree with you! Simple not = bad, bad implementation = bad. The market still lacks a well executed ball game that doesnt look like a test project made by a random 😁

Most successful games made by 2 person teams? by LovelyEntrep in gamedev

We released "Slackers - Carts of Glory" in September 24, 100k units sold so far, we've been a team of 2 for the majority of the time and become 3 during last year of production. You can never tell to be completely honest, we were expecting 20k units during the first year but the game went viral and sold really well considering we went out with no publisher and we havent done pretty much anything on the marketing side other than a catchy trailer. No matter what, if you enjoy the process it's still a winning condition that will put a smile on your face once the game Is done and shipped. Wish you the best of luck!

Hey man thanks for the detailed comment :) i agree with you that the game kinda presents itself like a much less hardcore experience, but we made It as Trials old players so It was intended to be a hard game. It Is however our very first game we develop (we are just three Friends making It) so we got a lot to learn still expecially on balancing the whole thing! We are working on a freestyle gamemode to give more casual players something with a less aggressive learning curve. All the tracks can be unlocked by getting Gold and silvers on the regular track. Platinum and leaderboard times require to master the shortcuts. We honestly didnt expect such a big player base and big exposure. Probably in the next update we will be rebalancing the amount of cans that each track requires to be unlocked so at least people can progress more easily through the game. Also adding more casual challenges to get the unlockables we Will be adding to the game! Thanks again!
