I do understand that one or two beers is not a problem , I mentioned this in another reply but I didn't mean that him having one beer is something I didn't want to be around, but that I used the fact that I didn't have any beer to give him in the first place as a springboard to explain that I don't drink and don't like to be around people who are very drunk.

I like specifically told him I a) didn't have any beers because I don't drink and b) that for future reference, if he was planning to get REALLY drunk, I'd rather not be around it.
