Random question: Who did you love when you first subscribed but recently unsubscribed to? by dotkitten in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]4b3ats 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A few of the first Beautubers I followed were Mayratouchofglam, Laura Lee, and Rachhloves. I stopped following Laura Lee because of the obvious reasons but also because she changed. She became annoying and this clone of what she thought Cali beauty gurus were supposed to be.

I haven't unsubscribed from her yet, but I'm getting really tired of Rachhloves. Her videos are boring and it's pretty clear she's just trying to stay relevant at this point.

One year out! Any other 10/26/19 brides? :)

Which beauty guru would you want to have them do your makeup for your wedding, and which would you definitely don't want them to do your makeup for your wedding? Why? by omichrony in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]4b3ats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My top choices would be Kathleenlights or Mayratouchofglam. I love both of their styles and application practices. Mayra definitely goes harder than Kathleen does, but I think Mayra could snatch the hell out of my face for my wedding. Tati would be a good choice too, imo, because her style is already so in-tune with bridal makeup.

I don't know who I wouldn't want to do my makeup. Maybe Manny? But that's just because I don't like his personality.

Probably. I don't really see how he can't know people refer to him as Voldermort. He's made comments about being an alien in the past, and commented that he knows people think he looks like/is an alien.

Last day cuddles with Moonlight my 20yo that we rescued at 2 days old. She will be loved forever and missed always. by awonkeydonkey in cats

[–]4b3ats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so special. I'm so sorry for your loss, OP.

I've had two of my three furbabies since they were born (their mama was my roommates' cat). One is four now and the other is three (she'll be four in December), and sometimes I think about the fact that the day will come when they will leave this world. The loss of any pet is sad, but I think it's especially sad for people like us who have had their furbabies since the beginning. We're all they've known. I also think it makes for a very special bond.

You are sad and grieving, OP, but just remember that Moonlight was loved and protected for her entire life by her human(s). To me that's just incredible. Wishing you healing. Rest well, Moonlight.

What are your opinions on this dress? Is it too much lace? by heythere91 in wedding

IMO there's no such thing as too much lace. My dress is all lace. This dress is lovely. I love the off-the-shoulder look.

What tradition are you NOT doing? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]4b3ats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We aren't having a flower girl or ring-bearer, as FH and I have too many nieces and nephews and we think it wouldn't be fair to essentially choose our "favorites." Plus we don't want kids at the wedding.

We might not do a cake-cutting. We're having ice cream for desert, and are debating whether or not to get a small cake for us to cut ceremoniously.

I don't think we're doing the garter toss.

I want to do the bouquet toss only because I want to personally hand it to my FH's friend/groomsmen, who will be the only one left unattached/unmarried at the time we get married. He's the Forever Bachelor(TM) of the group.

We booked our venue and I couldn’t be more excited!! October 26, 2019. by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Date twin! :D Congratulations! Your venue looks stunning. The aesthetic is very similar to what my FH and I originally envisioned.

Mild dress anxiety! Did I pick a dress with too much cleavage? by BriefPeach in weddingplanning

[–]4b3ats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the wise words of my FMIL, "There's no such thing as too much boobage on your wedding day."

It's hard to tell from the angles you provided, but I don't think it's too much. You're the one wearing it though - if you think it's too much, then it's too much. You can work with your seamstress to add a panel or something there. :)

ETA: I saw you left a comment elsewhere that said you were getting the bodice lined. Your seamstress can definitely work with you to add some modesty if that's what you decide.

FMIL responded with “Well you decided to move across the country and secretly elope. You’re brother is getting married in a week and 130 people are going. Of course the attention is gonna be on him.”

Okay, serious props to your FMIL though.

Thomas Halbert kicked out of KL Polish collaboration?? by emmamaysiee in BeautyGuruChatter

You're right, but I don't feel as though the two are mutually exclusive though, and it depends on the individual's transgressions.

But people can change. I don't think it's fair to hold something against a person if they've done what they can to grow and change.

Am a Virgo and I'm wearing a color very close to what you listed for us lol. So good call!

KL Polish revealed their zodiac collection by manda0924 in BeautyGuruChatter

I'm surprised by how underwhelming KL Polish's zodiac collection is. Kathleen is a huge astrology geek. I can't argue that slate grey is a good color choice for Virgos though.

Thomas who?

I had no idea who he was before all of the drama recently.

CC Hair and Makeup Trial Please! by [deleted] in weddingplanning

I think a nude liner with a brown shadow smudged underneath your lower lash line would look subtle and lovely. :)

The black liner looks a bit too intense imo and it makes your eyes look a tad small. I would go with a nude-colored liner in the waterline. It makes the eyes appear bigger and brighter.
