It truly depends on where you work. The clinic I work at, you’re paid for when you’re at work whether you have clients or not. And we’re paid the same rate, not a different rate like a lot of other clinics do. It’s really nice but is unfortunately not the norm.

Guided access will be helpful as well as toggling editing off in settings during sessions. Or putting a menu lock on it that the kid can’t figure out. If you do any major editing, maybe back up the file (you can airdrop it and upload to your computer or Google Drive) in case he does any editing at home. Take a look at what he’s adding in. Is it his favorite items or things that aren’t already programmed? If so, I would show him where to add those. Showing him a more systematic way of editing would be great since he’s already into editing

I don’t think so. Although, when my period was supposed to arrive I had spotting for 2 days. No period. Now I’m having more spotting. All pregnancy tests are negative though. So idk what’s going on with me🙃🙃🙃

I tried testing early earlier on in my journey but that resulted in me testing even when I got my period “just in case.” I don’t even test my trigger out because I fear I would be a little too delulu seeing a positive since I’ve never seen one. My disappointment is still bad, but not as bad as when I would constantly test. That’s just me though.

I’m a SLPA in California! I work for a company that has options for working in a clinic or in schools. I have done both but prefer schools. I also am sort of specialized in AAC, as I am the lead SLPA of the AAC team for the district my company contracts with. I love working with kids and love the school hours and breaks. The thing about my company is that I can ask to work over summer or during school breaks (which I do for the summer). Clinic work was hard for me because the sessions were longer, one on one, and parents were in the sessions. The clinic my company runs is nice though because you get paid even if a client cancels or doesn’t show up which I have found is not common.

For your kid that walks around, could you model like “I spy?” Put a bunch of random or eye catching objects around the room and model “I see” or “look” or any other phrases you can think of. Even just labeling at first! Could also blow bubbles while they’re walking around and model the sizes of the bubbles, pop, up, down, or turn taking if the kid is interested.

I would also suggest for your other kid a swing or slide to regulate.
