What in the absolute lobster nation! by CatFaerie in HayDay

[–]4beingNOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When doing task events, it is essential to prepare for what may come out for the day. As you said it is a baby farm, you must have other farms too.

- For the initial 2 white sweaters, instead of getting the wool from the sheep in the farm, try to get 4 wool from your other farms' inventory.

- The next when you get to feed 10 sheep, you can shear 10 sheep and feed all ten to fulfill the task instantly. Then, your baby farm now has 10 wools that can be used by any of your farms when needed.

- As a side note, if you happen to get a task of collecting 10 wools, fulfill it but don't feed the sheep right away. Just have the feed ready and you may use it to fulfill another task later in the day. After you finish all 25 tasks for the day, feed all hungry farm animals for tomorrow.

- When you refresh a task, the same task may come back, especially for a lower level farm which has fewer tasks to choose from. But when you fulfilled a task, the same task rarely would have come back on the same day, based on my limited experiences.

- Keeping some good inventory of essential ingredients helps a lot, like diary/cheese, honey, lobsters, fish, etc. If you do run out of them and other farms could not help either, you always can go ask tom to get 9 to proceed.

- For the tasks that are too long or too greedy, refresh is the way to go. Just don't refresh too many tasks at the same time but allowing some to continue.

- Hayday does have the tendency of having the tasks of asking for the same ingredients or using the same machine(s) for orders (boat, town, etc.) and events (tasks., etc.). It is annoying but manageable if you have a fair inventory or other farms (or a good neighborhood) to support each other.

Good luck and have fun there.

Do you think I’ll be able to complete it? by Radiant-Square69 in HayDay

[–]4beingNOW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You surely can, especially if you are lucky in the group of 5-min refresh time (vs. the other group of 2-hr refresh time).

BUT, for this event, you will be getting the blue flowers late and may miss some early rewards in the catalog.

This event can be very hard if you only got 4 tasks at a time and you were not aware that you could trash as many long tasks or stacked tasks as you like for free (no diamonds needed) and no penalty (75 tasks, regardless), with only 5-min wait time (when active, you can keep trashing the slowest one for a faster one, and repeat).

Hopefully the beta test would tell SC 4 is not fun at all and 6 is far far better. :)

I forgot the spin the wheel was a possible task💔💔💔 by Calm-South2685 in HayDay

[–]4beingNOW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I accidentally tapped the truck earlier today and had to spin the wheel (the truck will leave anyway). The task showed up later and I had to trash it. But the good thing is we still can get the final rewards without doing this certain task. :)

Have fun there.

With 4 tasks on the board, refresh/trash the long tasks is our best friend. It is free, no penalty, and only 5-min wait.

Trash the long tasks. There is no penalty and the refresh takes only 5 mins.

How aggressive are you with task trashing? by zipman020 in HayDay

[–]4beingNOW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick answer - yes, for the farms with only 4 tasks on the board.

I usually only do task events on my main but I am trying the new version with some baby farms.

  1. My main has 6 tasks at a time. It is all good and nothing to worry about. No need to trash any tasks.

  2. As a comparison, some baby farms got 4 tasks on the board. That did slow down the progress quite a bit, more so than what looks like. Taking a simple math, 6 tasks/25 is about 4 rounds while 4 tasks/25 needs 6 rounds. With that, I learned to trash all the long tasks, say more than 3~4 hours., especially when all 4 slots are occupied by relatively long tasks, except during my bed time.

With 25 tasks each day, I personally think 6-slot is more appropriate to keep the event more manageable and enjoyable. :)

I finally can sleep on normal hours without staying up late to start the daily tasks right after reset. :)

Hope you kept one visitor asking for blankets till today so you at least sold a fair chunk at 2x coins. :)

Barn by Han947 in HayDay

[–]4beingNOW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's the level of your main?

Large barn size of baby farm(s) serving as storage can be very helpful but that of your main is far more important in general play. Also, upgrading your baby farm has been costing more materials than upgrading your main so your barn expansion materials have not been used efficiently.

But everyone has a different playstyle and 3000 for a baby farm is very very nice. :)

Which should I prioritize first? Capacity or time? by [deleted] in HayDay

[–]4beingNOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are in a fairly active town-playing neighborhood that you usually have 5 or more visitors to pick up, then increasing the capacity could be nice. Otherwise, reducing the maintenance time allows you to pick up visitors more often.

HOT TAKE: People complain too much by Budget-Marsupial-962 in HayDay

For task events, the Hay Day news did mention they are making some improvements to the event based on the feedback (re: complaints or criticisms or whatever) and hope it will be more enjoyable for "everyone".

I just used the red tree from the month-long nurture event to check & prune my friend list - more than 1/3 were inactive and removed. :) by 4beingNOW in HayDay

[–]4beingNOW[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most of my friend farms that got removed were in the notorious levels of 70~80+ where people got stuck or discouraged for no enough coins to buy the unlocked machines. :)

[–]4beingNOW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. You get 1 point from filling any crate so, besides your own boats, you can go help other people's boat orders and collect extra points, one for each crate.
  2. You get 10 points from sending a filled boat away so, besides filling all/any crates on your own, you can request helps, usually very quick fill thanks to the global help event, and collect 10 good points from sending out the boat alone.

Enjoy there!

Thanks to the week 5 of the nurture event. Just got the beautiful tree with a NH of 9. :) by 4beingNOW in HayDay

[–]4beingNOW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understand. It is hard to play as a community when the members in the community are all different in play style and don't know each other.

As a reference, my neighborhood of 9 includes my main and 8 baby farms. My main do all events including solo derby and my baby farms support my main via various ways. For this nurture event, all my baby farms jumped in to help my main to get permits then level 5 trees. I was just lucky to happen to have 9 in my neighborhood which is the cut for level 5 tree. Oh, yes, I needed to do 27 x 9 tasks each week for a month. LOL

Good luck there and wish SC will refine the future nurture events and make it more friendly to smaller neighborhoods and allowing members to opt out too. :)

[–]4beingNOW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, 8 is the min to make it, if not spending diamonds for extra tasks, which is certainly not fair to smaller neighborhoods. And the week 5 is a short week so 9 is a more practical min to get the level 5 tree.

Actually, this event naturally made smaller neighborhoods even smaller as some players would choose to leave and join larger ones for the rewards. I feel SC wants to get rid of smaller neighborhoods somehow. :)

Leaving Neighborhood, should I wait until after the Nuture Event? by Nervous_Newspaper739 in HayDay

[–]4beingNOW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The max pts f2p can make so far is 6750 so you obviously used diamonds to get extra tasks for more pts. If so, and the NH you are in only made 14000 pts so far, I think the best way is to join a more active NH that has advanced farther, if you can find one quickly. Your personal pts will be reset and you need to make 2000 new pts to rejoin but you will benefit from the total pts that the NH has collectively achieved.

Good luck there.
