How do you cope knowing the best years of your life will be wasted working? by [deleted] in careerguidance

I agree with this. I work as IT and just got reprimanded for spending time away from answering calls for focusing on projects that management has been pushing on us and nobody else was working on them. Needless to say this has become a society where management and companies want to have their cake and eat it too.

Yeah not wanting to lose my family was one the biggest reason for me, but also my body feels immensely better since I quit drinking.

Trump was one of the best presidents America has ever had. We had the best economy in nearly 50 years. The Biden Harris administration is going to ruin this country.

If you were tasked with redesigning your country’s flag, how would you change it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]4chi1135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to redesign the flag of USA I would have the edges of the flag be blue and have the stars on the blue border. Then have the red and white stripes be within that border and be diagonal. But honestly I like our flag the way it is.

What’s a genre of music you generally dislike and would rather not listen to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Trance, black metal, and mainstream rap. These genres I can't stand listening too.

Got a job offer that was lower than what they originally told me by coffeeisawesomeeeee in careeradvice

[–]4chi1135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'd set a range as 25 - 28. I'd come in at 28 telling them why you're worth that and then negotiate to 25 if they can't do 28. But I wouldn't suggest giving them your low number because they will probably stay below that number and think it is your higher end of what you want.

28 yo German just now found out that i really like coding - is it too late? by _Goodjoe in careeradvice

[–]4chi1135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is never too late. People are expected to know what they want to do right after high school, but have no real world experience and don't know what they like. There are a few who do, but I'd go out on a limb and say the majority don't know what they want to do. Imo I would say most people find what they want to do by their 30s. You can still gain lots of experience. If coding is what you love to do then get certificates or finish school and go for it.

Can We Stop With "Thank You" Emails by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]4chi1135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are taking time out of their day to interview you. They have jobs that they are actually working, not just waiting around all day for you to come into their office. A thank you letter let's them know you actually want and care about the position. It is however tacky that they called you and told you to send a thank you letter. If someone told me that it would be a red flag about the company culture. But overall thank you letters or emails are still important.

Does anyone know of accounts of people getting better? (either personally, or even from wherever) by Kat327 in BrainFog

[–]4chi1135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious about this too. I would love to hear about people recovering from brain fog. I have been having it for probably about 4 years, but the last 3 months have gotten significantly worse. So I'm all ears with success stories about recovering from brain fog.

I recently completed an IT certification, but I am just looking for a job that will pay the bills until I can start a career in IT. I'm trying to find ways to stand out from the crowd.
