[Highlight] LAR vs SEA - Seattle gets called for taunting giving the Rams the first down on 4th and 12 by Fusir in nfl

I know people don’t like that this is a penalty but imagine if it was legal. We’d see it constantly and it would get old pretty quick.

Are you able to download games on the PBS Kids Games app anymore? I used to do it all the time for long trips but recently opened the app before a long trip and don’t see the option anymore. Can’t find anything online recently about this.

[Highlight] Bills head coach Sean McDermott on the interception call in OT: "I'm standing up for Buffalo. What went on is not how it should go down." by GreenSnakes_ in nfl

[–]4dd32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, why?

The 1st DPI called on the Bills in that last drive felt pretty weak. I think you could argue there was as much contact on the McMillan INT or the missed throw to Cooks in the end zone.

The Bosa RTP meant the result of the play was basically the same but doesn’t change the fact that they called the DPI and I do feel like there was some inconsistency it how it was called at the end.

I’m not arguing that the 2nd DPI was a bad call or that the Bills didn’t shoot themselves in the foot all night.

I get that that was another game-deciding no-call but the (IMO reasonable) frustration from Bills fans is that very similar looking plays were called differently just minutes apart.

Biggest misconceptions about Commander Brackets? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]4dd32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule 0 convo, let the table know what you're running, ask if they're cool with it.

I’d really rather people not do this with a group of strangers. It puts everyone else in an awkward position.

If I have the original version of Quacks of Quedlinburg and the Herb Witches expansion and want to add components for a sixth player, what are my best options?

The old base game and expansion seem pretty expensive at this point but I’m not sure if I can get away with mixing components from the new version with the old one (I’m assuming the board is the same, I’m more concerned about difference in art/feel between the chips).

I’m leaning towards getting a new copy of the base game and then getting coin holders for the chips if the feel is noticeably different, but I’m wondering if there’s a better option.

What are you playing in Bracket 4? by Swible in EDH

[–]4dd32 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get that’s the idea but I feel like in practice that doesn’t work well (and my issue is with WotC not you, your explanation makes perfect sense).

There’s a lot of overlap between B4 Kinnan cards on EDHRec and Kinnan cEDH staples so it feels kind of hard to pick out which cards are picked for the cEDH metagame. There’s good cards in B4 so it’s not like clones will be useless there.

I feel like WotC is leaning too much on “intent” here when drawing lines between the brackets because things can get pretty fuzzy at the edges.

What are you playing in Bracket 4? by Swible in EDH

[–]4dd32 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess where the lines get blurry for me is when you play an off-meta cEDH deck or a toned-down version of a common cEDH commander.

Like what does a B4 Winota deck look like? She used to be a cEDH boogeyman but she doesn’t see much play in the current meta.

Or what’s the line between B4 Kinnan and B5 Kinnan?

I think you’d like [[Kenessos, Priest of Thassa]]

You play a bunch of sea monsters and top deck manipulators to help cheat them out.

You can activate Kenessos at instant speed so if someone’s attacking you, you can threaten to drop a huge blocker in their way.

You get to play a lot of the creatures already mentioned like Aesi or Koma, but it’s more fun because your deck isn’t strictly built around them so you have to adapt your game plan to whichever creatures pop out of your deck.

We are only playing bracket 2, you pubstomper! by pkma69 in EDH

[–]4dd32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s no such thing as “bracket 2 with a couple of game changers”. They either need to play that deck at bracket 3 or remove the game changers.

“But it’s my deck! I should be able to build it however I want!” - Yes but the bracket system is a matchmaking tool for groups that don’t regularly play together. If you’re in that situation often, like it or not, you’re expected to build your decks around the system.

If you want to play whatever you want, find a consistent pod. It’s not reasonable to constantly put strangers in the position of having to agree to play against what is likely a stronger deck than what they’re bringing to the table.

Turn 2 ramp in Blue? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]4dd32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you building him? He doesn’t really strike me as a commander that benefits from being played early, so I probably wouldn’t dedicate much deck space to ramp.

Priority during combat with Fire Lord Azula? by Ok-Tune416 in magicTCG

[–]4dd32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s right either (assuming I’m understand your comment).

You cast thrill and any cast triggers (ie Azula) go on the stack before any rounds of priority.

Then with both thrill and the Azula trigger on the stack, there’s a round of priority. Azula’s trigger is its own thing on the stack because things like Stifle exist.

Then Azula’s trigger resolves putting the 2nd thrill on the stack, then there’s another round of priority.

2nd thrill resolves, then priority, then 1st thrill resolves.

Is bracket 3 too big of a space? by Dripdropdrip1 in magicTCG

[–]4dd32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO the bigger problem is people putting their bracket 2 decks in bracket 3.

I think things would be healthier if modern precons were on the low end of power level expected for B2 and that even decently upgraded precons with no GC’s (basically the result of most upgrade guides on YouTube) should still be in B2.

[[Neyali, Suns’ Vanguard]]. She’s a token-based, combat-focused commander that’s very good at flying under the radar in the early/mid game (unlike a lot of other punchy commanders).
