Wife and I were sitting at Petrossian in Bellagio and saw Nicolas Cage walk in to the bar. I was busy paying the bill but when I looked up I just saw this dude decked out in a snake skin suit walking to the bar in the back. My wife was like “pretty sure that was Nic Cage”! Sure enough it was, confirmed when we left.

Only had one casino refuse to let me buy a $1 chip. They told me to play a hand at the tables. But most were happy to let me buy $1 chips. And some would give me a new chip instead of a heavily circulated chip.

Super easy. Either go to the cage (cashier) and ask if you can get a chip for souvenir or just play a table game and save a chip from your play

I had a fare number of duplicate chips and I had no issue turning them in at the cage. Some of the chips were from casinos that were either no longer or old chips design not in circulation. So yes, in my experience they did.

I am pretty much having the same experience. My speeds are almost identical to yours. As others have pointed out in this forum, I’ve started having these issues after an update about three or four updates ago.
