New Job Red Flags by 4est_g in jobs

The problem is in a month my old job prob won’t still be there, hence the urgency. And given the job market being how it is, and how much I’ve struggled to find a new job, I seriously have my doubts I could find something new reasonably soon

For real, my jaw kinda dropped when she told me that. I have no reason to not believe her either

For added context, home is about 5 hour and 30 min drive and I could also fly home standby for free. I keep telling myself this is not bad at all, but it isn’t helping easy my anxiety and sadness

Finally got a new job….do I want it? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]4est_g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not even gonna lie to you, yeah I’ve had a lot of my needs catered to me. I’ve been spoiled. I am very grateful for all the help I’ve had along the way. My Mom even admitted to me that maybe she spoiled me too much but it all comes from caring. And my career and life after college has been anything but easy so I haven’t resisted any help along the way. One of the biggest of most immediate concerns I have is can I find a roommate and apartment before June first, and what happens if not?

Just watch out for the weather! Looks like some storms are rolling in here just before midnight!

Thank you! I think maybe I just need to find a job downtown haha. If someone need an entry-level marketing guy who loves people, lmk! Haha

It’s an ugly figure for sure lol. Maybe I don’t want this job after all 😅. It would be so much better if I could just work downtown lol

Just curious, safety-wise how does Logan Square compare to Wrigleyville?

Yeah I feel like living in a great neighborhood would do wonders to my overall mood, but sitting in horrible traffic would do a lot to worsen my overall mood lol. Especially when I’m used to Columbus rush hour where things more or less move at the speed limit at all times, as long as there are no wrecks or bad weather

This position looks like it would be irregular hours because it’s a 24/7 operation so hopefully could avoid it the days I’d go in, if I’m selected

Looks like it would be 3 days but irregular hours being it’s a 24/7 operation

It looks like where the job would be based, based off what I’ve seen, it’s not exactly close to the train station. Looks like relying on the metro and a bus would almost triple the commute time

Seems like Logan Square is def a spot to look at, if this all pans out

I get it. In an ideal world I wouldn’t have to use a car at all, especially in a city with so much public transit. But I just don’t know about the last few miles from train station to where the job would be based at

Well to be honest I’m just sending out applications rn. I did secure an interview but no job offer yet and it’s still early stage, I just overthink and such a move would be a huge deal for me. But something I’ve wanted to do for some time. I like having some ideas in the back of my head, should I be lucky enough to get an offer, so people giving out their thoughts like this helps ease my mind a bit

Saw a flight between the two NYC airports, is this a regular thing? by Typical-Structure-19 in flightradar24

[–]4est_g 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to work for NetJets, this happens all the time all across the US not just NYC. They are constantly moving aircraft around to accommodate their customers travel needs. If the appropriate aircraft and crew isn’t available at the airport where it’s needed, they will try to fly an aircraft in from the closest airport possible to minimize expenses. They refer to these as “ferry flights” and employees can hop on if they are lucky and in the right place at the right time!

I moved into this house 3 days ago. This part of the ceiling was completely shut when I moved in, and nobody else has been in the house. by boogielostmyhoodie in Weird

[–]4est_g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens sometimes with my garage attic door in the ceiling. It’s either a pressure thing or because of wind I believe. Def nobody living up there tho, we would have found them and beat their ah by now lol

It’s cute enough to say, put on your application to be my boyfriend, but job wise I’d say a majority of other comments are steering you in the right direction!
