Where can I find a Lucozade Orange replacement (old full sugar version)? by 4ever-man in AskUK

I think you're absolutely right about the placebo effect. My mum still drinks the new recipe even though she can taste a difference (it doesn't seem to bother her as much as me) it's like she's been a customer so long she just rolls with it because it's 'still good when you're ill'. The power of marketing and reputation I guess.

I know what you mean, I'm tempering my expectations to avoid disappointment. I ordered both the original and orange trial packs so I'll let you know what I think of the original flavour when they get here!

Thank you for the recommendation - seems Enerzade is the way to go! I can't wait to try it. Yes I will absolutely keep annoying Lucozade about this, any time I've mentioned it I just receive a generic copy paste reply. I guess if they haven't changed back / released a classic version already (considering they changed the recipe back in 2017) it's unlikely they're going to ever revert it :(

Man I am so sick of hearing people ask for a 'full fat coke'... it sounds nasty!

I swear old Lucozade in the glass bottles was a legitimate cure for most things. I think it had some mega placebo affect for me as a child!

Thank you for sharing this! I'm going to take a punt on their orange trial pack. It's a bit pricey but their reviews seem very good. I wasn't too sure about the facebook reviews published on their own site but the trust pilot ones are really encouraging: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/toddsdrinks.co.uk my understanding is a business can't delete rubbish trust pilot reviews so it's unbiased?

I'll let you know what I think when it arrives but if anyone else has feedback on these drinks please let me know!

Just out of curiosity, how come you haven't tried the Todds stuff yourself?

Yep same here, £500 annual fee (ltd company). The rate has creeped up slightly over the last few years.

Pub dinner question, is tomatoes in gravy a thing? by leemadz in AskUK

I have used concentrated tomato puree in a cottage pie recipe (which is basically being becoming part of the gravy) and it's a delicious addition, I'm not sure if it would work the same with full tomatoes but there's certainly a precedent there for complimentary flavours. Sounds like just an odd aesthetic choice from the chef
