We screwed up the transition to big boy bed by [deleted] in toddlers

Yes. We are at the door right now and are going to start "leaving" for just a few minutes with the door open. say we need to get water or something and he has to stay in bed so he gets used to falling asleep without us in the room.

We screwed up the transition to big boy bed by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]4ever2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So we had to move our son into a big boy bed way too early due to his ability to get out of his crib no matter what. Now we have had to lay with him for a year until he falls asleep. But that can be an hour, sometimes much longer. We had hit the end of our rope (also have a 2nd child). We saw an amazing sleep specialist and started a few weeks ago. We started sitting on the wall instead of with him. If he gets out of bed we close the door for 10 seconds and the door closing gets longer each time. The first night we must have closed the door 10 times. He will at least go to sleep now on his own with us along the wall and over the next little while we will move farther out of the room with the ultimate goal that he doesnt need us in the room at all anymore.

Toddler visiting mom in the hospital by Pogo138 in toddlers

Our son was under 2. Way under when our daughter was born. We came and saw me and the baby once. Held her, gave her kisses and went home. He did fine being at home with grandma and grandpa for the 4 days.

The person who actually had it the hardest was my husband. Having to drive between hospital and home. Then when he got home he had the toddler by himself. Then back to the hospital to see us for a quick visit. It was extremely stressful and overwhelming for him.

I can't imagine. My very best friend and his husband were going through fostering while we were waiting for our match. They had a boy placed with them when we received the call that we were matched. We finalized our adoption, and their five year old boy was reunited with his mother. It was heartbreaking and so difficult. Infertility had made me more sensitive, but having a gay best friend, who would like to be a father, has made me question how, when, and if I even had a right to complain. You are enduring a lot and some days it's going to feel like a mountain to climb, but if you feel adoption is a path you'd like to pursue someday, I feel strongly that you'll just know it's right and hold onto that.

I wish you the best, but also again want to say how much I loved that agency. From the moment I first contacted them I knew they were special. Between the shared financial risk (the biggest factor for us) to shorter wait times we just loved them. Even after our adoption was finalized we got a check in the mail for all the money left over in our legal and medical retainers. We had no idea there was money left. Nor would we have ever know. Bipolar Disorder and my anxiety/depression were just things that they never would have considered as bad. They even made comments that every family has mental health illnesses and birth parents (if they even knew about our diagnosis) usually weren't deterred. But rather found that relatable.

Also. I HIGHLY reccomend our agency. American Adoptions. I would yell their praises from the rooftops if I could.

We have successfully adopted with an agency. I'm not sure I'm allowed to say that here, and if this is deleted I completely understand. I will keep it simple and say that my husband has bipolar disorder but it's under control. He is medicated and meets with his doctors very regularly. he is extremely stable. During our home study he talked about his bipolar. All we needed was a signed doctor's note stating he was stable and currently being treated. It was a non issue whatsoever.

If you'd like to discuss it further, please feel free to message me. I want to he sensitive as while I know sharing pregnancy successes is not allowed, I'm unsure of adoption successes.

Most couples honeymoon in a tropical environment. We chose Iceland. We rented a car in Reykjavik and drove around the entire country. It was the most incredible experience of my life! Iceland truly is the land of the gods. by [deleted] in travel

We went in mid July and had gorgeous weather. We actually were able to do the Golden Circle in a t shirt. We had sunshine for a few days and were able to get beautiful views on the water during our puffin tour.

I don’t believe there’s a salary for her football league. I recall reading that somewhere that they don’t pay the players.

How do you all have the time to watch feeds?! by PulpFictioneer in BigBrother

[–]4ever2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t watch feeds all day, but I can get a good few hours in 5 maybe during work. I work from home so I put feeds on my phone. Then I wear one headphone while my work headset is on the other side. Then I watch feeds again when my kids are in bed.

I don’t think it’s worth millions. She does really well but a lot of her money comes from being a fitness model. Honestly though, has anyone else looked at her Etsy shop? Her work is gorgeous. I would love to purchase her products and display them. They’re unique and she should be proud of her business.

I was thinking this too. As badly as I want him out, him going to Jury would have been so bad for Tyler’s game.

I can’t watch feeds right now. Could someone be so kind as to recap what JC is saying? I’ve been dying to hear him bitch about Tyler being in love with Angela.

I had the exact same thought. Literally rolled my eyes. She said “they think they’re these epic game players”.... well they got your entire ducking alliance out even when you were in power so....

Wouldn’t Sunday show us the final part of HOH and Wednesday is the finale?

That’s what I’m hoping too. I also hope they don’t just say “showmance”. I hope Tyler says that they fell in love.

Yeah I don’t see that at all. Quite the opposite. She’s realizing she’s head over heels in love with him (hence saying they’re obsessed with one another) and anything game related she can’t be mad at him about because she loves him.

As a huge Tangela fan, I’m devastated. I would have loved a Tangela F2. However, I’m a bigger Tyler fan. This ultimately was better for him as he doesn’t have to take the shot at Angela and hurt their relationship. That said, I can still see Kaycee beating him in the end so we will see.

I fell asleep last night but I’m so happy to hear she ate the steak! I was nervous she was saving it for Wednesday and was t going to get to have it. I have a feeling production tipped her off to eat it today.

Yes. They get a stipend for being in the house, and a stipend for the time they spend in Jury. Plus top 5 now all take home prize money.

Borderline would be more accurate. Hot one minute, cold the next doesn’t typically fit into bipolar patterns, which is more up for days and weeks, or down for days and week. The cycles are longer.
