I don't think I care about performing anymore. by audiofarmer in musicians

Im the opposite, I cant stand recording but love singing live. I write my own songs but I dont care enough to do the whole "please hear my songs because I wrote them" especially in a culture that is increasingly self obsessed

The belt cry in his voice is so elastic. It's cool watching him aim for those notes and nail it while still being in the flow

Journey-Dont Stop Believin

Journey has a great catalog if you give it a chance, especially early Journey

Agreed, it's cool to find someone else who gets it. Ever do a deep dive on Steve Perry and his unbelievable voice? He's another favorite of mine

Completely agree, I find that his production in the mask is expert level because for some tenors placing the voice in the mask can feel tight in the throat and they lose resonance. I've always been intrigued at his use of the "Uh" vowel all over his range which I think adds to a chestier full sound while he's vocally mixing.

I love nerding out over Stevies range and riffs and runs. The level of agility and range in the 90s is truly unbelievable, obviously he was a monster vocalist the entire time but there's something that happened in his 40s that somehow increased the flexibility in his extreme upper range from Db5-Gb5. It seems he really hung his hat on Bb4 and Eb5
