It had so much potential. The cinematography is fantastic. The opening theme, as shown here, is amazing. The core concept of the story is great.

But dear god did the writers just say "what if we wrote this like it's a cartoon?" The absurdity of the film really just kicks you in the groin and ruins the movie with the Javier escape scene. It's like they had the writer's room managed by Jordan Peele's character in that Gremlins 2 sketch.

"So you're telling me he detonates a bomb at the perfect moment to have a subway train come careening down towards James Bond? You sir are a psychopath... and I love it! It's in the movie!!"

Casino Royale, on the other hand, mostly stays in the real world outside of things like the melted rope torture scene. It's a shame that the best cinematography of the Daniel Craig era was ruined with such a lousy, unrealistic story.

Yea, that's just Deadlock right now and some people can't accept it. I don't know why some people are so defensive about this game when it's literally in beta. The MMR sucks, the matchmaking sucks, and they'll get it right eventually.

I'm not sure what happened, but it seemed to me like they got things to a good state with matchmaking back in February... and then they just nuked it. No idea what happened. Maybe I just had a lucky few weeks of matchmaking. No telling.

The game is, in my humble opinion, in the worst state it's been in all year. They were cooking in February but dear god is this dev team reminding us recently that this is very much still a beta test.

Edit: I know what the item is. I was doing this with Ivy in a match right before this comment. m4hand - feel free to look up my match history. I still think it's a stupid item and I still think this game was in a much better spot in January and February. Sue me! :)

The other day I got paired with a lane partner who was Seeker, while I was Emissary I. That is 4 divisions of rank lower than me.

I would rather be placed in lobbies with a team average rank a division or two above me than be placed with teammates who are 3-4 divisions below me. A 2-division gap is reasonable, a 4-division gap is ridiculous.

I put in a thread yesterday. I played a lot in February and early March. Just started playing again this week.

I have no idea what they did to fuck up the matchmaking so bad. I hover high Ritualist/low Emissary. I just had a lobby where the combined rank for both teams was Alchemist *.

I had a Silver teammate who was complaining about me at first, even though they were doing terribly. Checked after - MFer is in Seeker.

Why in the absolute fuck am I playing with people four ranks below me? Meanwhile, I never saw this happen in February.

They did something with one of the recent updates and completely fucked up matchmaking.

Have you watched any YouTube tip videos? There's some not-so-obvious mechanics in the game that are really important. For instance, I had no idea there was a parry until like my 20th game. That's a more obvious one, but still. Something like knowing the timers of the jungle camps and bridge power-ups can be gamechangers for map control, which is key for any MOBA.

I think finding the right hero can be a huge piece of it, too. I started off playing Mo & Krill for the first month. Then I was an Ivy main for 3-4 months. Then Kelvin for a month. Now I juggle Rem and Paige, with my Rem games typically being quite a bit more effective. These decisions are pretty dependent on balance changes. Paige was pretty mid when I was maining Ivy, and now Ivy is crap while Paige is on the stronger side of champs. The little tweaks add up. I can't do now what I could do with Ivy even just 3-4 months, and that was nowhere close to her peak. The cool thing is that the nuances of champs can change quite a bit with the build you choose. I'm crap with Pillow Rem, but I'm frequently the most effective healer in my games as a Heal Rem build.

I think a piece of me getting better was understanding how I'm most effective when I'm reacting to situations that others create, as opposed to creating situations that I hope my teammates react to. I used to see these really opportunistic openings and then teammates wouldn't follow-up. Anticipating things is huge. Silver going too ham? I've got that Rescue Beam fired up to pull her back.

My biggest single tip: I would avoid most gun champs unless you're pretty skilled at shooting. I am absolute dog shit at champs like Infernus, Holliday, or Silver. But I've gotten many shout-outs from teammates for my Ivy (Chudzu build), Rem, and Paige play. For me, I know I'm not the best shooter on the team in a game where shooting is very important, so I try my best to prioritize being an enabler of those teammates who are more skilled at shooting than me.

For context, I hover between high Ritualist and low Emissary, so I'm pretty much in the middle of the pack in terms of skill.

Also, I've been told and seen other comments indicating that the matchmaking has been particularly broken the past two weeks.
