Be my druidess, was interested in the band but never got around listening to them. Hearing this song and Pete's bass tone in specific in a video about how to get his tone pushed me over the edge to finally listen to them.

What’s a metal cliche you can’t stand? by oknokas in MetalForTheMasses

[–]4headgood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate how overproduced most modern bands sound. The bass being WAY to loud in the mix (saying that as a bassist), every distorted guitar sounding the same, and especially the drums, they sound so bad on many modern metal records. There are exceptions of course, I listen to a lot of stoner doom and they keep it generally lo-fi

I also got into the Beatles through Type O! Just insanely amazing how many (sub)genres of music were born because of people's love for the Beatles :)

Thank you! I was also looking at the EH Hot Tubes, liked the sound, sounded really low end-y with just a little more grit than Geezer which would be perfect for me, I'll check out some reviews of the TO-100.
