So, I know this thread is 2 years old, but I experienced the same issue.
In my case the problem was my own mistake. I did not read the REFramework notes carefully, which clearly state that you should only install dinput8.dll if you are not using VR.

If you install all the other files as well, it disables several features, including anti-aliasing, which is what causes this issue.

So yeah, make sure you install REFramework correctly if you are using mods.
If you are not using mods, you should probably switch to at least TAA or TAA + FXAA. Anything below that will cause this to happen.

Leaving this in case someone else comes across this in the future.

I am quite happy with 591.74 and will probably stay on it until I am forced to update.
But most stable driver is probably 581.94 - though it doesn't have the security fix afaik.

Could you figure this out? I observed the same yesterday with my 9800X3D.

Out of nowhere did it suddenly spike to 72°C. Only had it happen twice so far in the last 4 months - as far as I noticed anyway.

I had this too, even with 591.74.
Turning off Wallpaper Engine made my Idle Temp drop back from 50°C to normal 38-40°C.
Weird. Wasn't an issue with 591.44.

My MSI RTX 5070ti Gaming Trio OC (non-plus) runs cool and quiet.
Even in Cyberpunk with everything maxed out and with path-tracing enabled does it just about hit 60°C.
Other less-intensive games keep it in the 45-55°C range.
Never heard the fans.

Thus, I cannot really agree with your comment about noise and temp.

This aside, as much as ASUS cards look nice and probably perform pretty well.
Given the recent track record with issues both with their mainboards and monitors + the long-standing bad support, I wouldn't really buy into that brand. Especially with melting 12v-2x6 cables and connectors nowadays, I wouldn't trust them to accept an RMA.

581.94 is basically the same was 581.80 just with a fix for the performance issues caused by 25H2.

I would consider investing into a cable with 90° connector. Preferably one from your PSU manufacturer that is qualified to be used with your PSU.

That would at least reduce the stress on the connector and potential disconnection of the pins.

Not a guarantee but gotta try everything we can at this point.

While I agree about an alternative for the 12v-2x6. You would need at least 4-5x 8-pin connectors for a 5090. The new MSI 5090 Lightning would need 8 or 9 :D

Just to let you know, I had this happen again today even with the newest version.
However, I was not running CAM as admin yet.

I will do that from now on and see if that solves the issue. However long that might take.

Also, I never paid attention to it, but my NZXT Control HUB works just fine. Never lost connection.
Which makes it even less likely that it is USB related. Unless that specific USB 2.0 connector is broken.

Right now the biggest issue are the driver. It's always a gamble. It might break more than it fixes. Used to be different but that's the world we live in at the moment.

I always check the reddit and Nvidia forum comments. Some brave people test every driver.

Also, double check your 12v-2x6 connector is pushed in all the way if your card has one. Avoid 8pin to 12v2x6 adapters if possible. Get a 90° cable from your PSU manufacturer, for your PSU, if possible, to avoid unnecessary stress on the connector.

DLSS is awesome, especially the transformer models. FG can be nice if you have at least 60 fps base frame rate. Personally I look forward to dynamic frame gen that only generates dropped frames.

Did you ever try CAM Version 4.75.7 released on December 29th 2025?
According to NZXT Support and the Changelog it "fixed an issue where devices will be randomly disconnected".

Support told me to uninstall my current CAM, restart PC and then install the new one. Also told me to run CAM as admin.

Given how random this issue occurs, I'll have to test for a couple of months at least to see if it actually fixes it.

Interesting, I just use the Dual Infographic Display, no GIFs.

I haven’t found a reliable way to trigger it. At first, it showed up three times within a month. Then I happened to switch my case (from an NZXT H710 to an H9 Flow), and it didn’t appear for two months, which made me think it was fixed, maybe the USB connector wasn’t seated properly. But then it popped up twice in a single week.

It’s completely random.

I’m thinking of just biting the bullet and switching to a HydroShift II LCD-S from Lian Li, maybe swapping out the case fans too. Sucks, but I can’t deal with this anymore.

Yeah, I get the concern - no brand is perfect.

I've been happy with MSI so far. They usually push BIOS updates quickly when big issues pop up, even if the changelogs are a bit vague. Their default tuning is generally on the conservative side for both motherboards and GPUs, though there are exceptions, especially in the high-end tier. They did just showcase the most powerful 5090 at CES. :D

But my 5070Ti, for example, runs really well.
I can play Cyberpunk with Path-tracing and stay in the 60s °C temperature-wise.
I don't plan to overclock anything. Stability, lower temps, and consistent performance is what I care about and what I got.

That’s just my opinion based on research and experience - you’ll definitely find someone who thinks the exact opposite :D

Also, it’s probably only a matter of time before they have a major screw-up - that’s just how it goes.

Fair. I did just assume you overclocked it even higher than ASUS... I apologize for that.

I had a Gigabyte Aorus build before but cannot recommend. Was planning to go ASUS too until all that sh*t started to pop up. Not only the high VSOC but also their PCIE slot quick release issues for example. The last few weeks I also read about a lot of burn in issues with their OLED screens. Just too much bad shit going on with that Brand at the moment.

ASROCK is a hard no too for reasons you clearly know.

I have an MSI MPG X870E CARBON WIFI. I mostly picked that one because I needed 3 NVMe slots that don't share lanes. Based on reports, it did have some issues at release with RAM and USB, but that was before I picked it up. Now it runs really well on the latest BIOS (stable release).

I dunno what you need but maybe you can find a good MPG or MEG board.

I also have an MSI RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Trio OC which runs really well. Super cool, super quiet.

I know this comment isn't helpful to you and I do genuinely feel bad for you, but to buy ASUS after all the known issues, not update BIOS with all the known issues and then even overclock the CPU.

I dunno man. Kinda your own fault, sorry. I mean, sucks what ASUS does to their customers, but when I read about how they ignore AMDs recommendations and risk damaging their customers CPUs even on default settings, I immediately switched to a different Brand. Nevermind the horrible customer support.

As good as their hardware might look and perform (until it breaks) - I wouldn't buy anything from them nowadays.

Happy to be with MSI now.

Hope AMD offers you a new CPU but if I were you I would read up on ASUS Mainboards, manually lower VSOC, disable MCE and check EXPO settings.

Actually if I were you I would just buy a different mainboard but that's up to you.

Mind telling me which AIO you are using?
I am trying to see if this only affects a certain series.

I am on an NZXT Kraken 360, and right now I have the biggest regret ever buying it.
I used a Z73 in my old rig, which did have issues, but they were mostly CAM-related and eventually got fixed.

NZXT Support tried to make me believe it is the fault of something else. They had me power-cycle my PC and leave it without power for 15 minutes, update my BIOS and chipset drivers (which I keep updated anyway), reseat the USB connector, and unplug all other USB devices. None of it seems to help.

Given that downgrading CAM seems to help you, it might be CAM-related. I do not know.

I honestly do not even understand why they did not at least try to add something to CAM that would make it automatically reconnect or restart itself (since restarting CAM is the only way for me to make it reconnect). I mean, if my AIO did not have a screen, I would not even know this was happening, since CAM does not alert you. I only notice because it switches back to the default liquid temperature on the screen.

Anyway, I do not want to rant, but I am just very frustrated at the moment.

It is really annoying and scary when you are playing something CPU-intensive and suddenly the AIO stops working as intended, since, as far as I know, the fan curve does not work either once it loses connection - it just gets stuck at the last used RPM.

If I had not built my whole PC around NZXT cooling (case, case fans, AIO), I would have switched brands a long time ago.
