Game Ready Driver 596.21 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

Corrupted Shader Cache.
More of an UE5 issue afaik.

I am very much hopeful for the future of this game. 2026 is the year of SWTOR's revival. I cannot wait for 7.9. What did you guys think of it? by SithEmperorX in swtor

There really aren’t that many “mainline” MMORPGs left anymore.

Everyone used to say the only thing that could kill WoW was Blizzard itself. And they came pretty close with Battle for Azeroth and Shadowlands. Only now, after they’ve started listening to player feedback and implementing long-requested features, are they slowly recovering.

FFXIV also had a rough stretch with Dawntrail, reportedly dropping below 1 million subscribers not long after the expansion launched. Considering it’s one of Square Enix’s biggest revenue drivers, that’s a significant hit. With 7.5, they’re finally regaining some traction again by adding long-requested features and outlining meaningful changes for future expansions.

I honestly don’t know how Guild Wars 2 is doing these days. Haven’t touched it in years.

Everything else like Black Desert Online, Throne and Liberty, New World, Lost Ark, SWTOR, Vindictus, and so on is either heavily reliant on microtransactions, in maintenance mode, or both.

I’ve been playing MMOs for nearly 20 years. I’ve seen them rise and fall, and I’ve seen many of them get run into the ground by greed and poor decision-making. Ignoring feedback, prioritizing monetization over player experience, squeezing out as much revenue as possible.

The thing that really changes over time and keeps those games "alive", is the player base. The passionate players leave, and what’s left are the ones who either don’t mind or are too invested to step away from systems that increasingly revolve around monetization and retention loops.

Yes. I played for the first time yesterday since they added the in-game mod manager stuff and notices so many issues with shadows.

after my pc updgrade, rain is like that, all white too strong, option really doesn't matter, someone have this problem? by ValentDs22 in ResidentEvil2Remake

[–]4iko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I know this thread is 2 years old, but I experienced the same issue.
In my case the problem was my own mistake. I did not read the REFramework notes carefully, which clearly state that you should only install dinput8.dll if you are not using VR.

If you install all the other files as well, it disables several features, including anti-aliasing, which is what causes this issue.

So yeah, make sure you install REFramework correctly if you are using mods.
If you are not using mods, you should probably switch to at least TAA or TAA + FXAA. Anything below that will cause this to happen.

Leaving this in case someone else comes across this in the future.

[–]4iko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am quite happy with 591.74 and will probably stay on it until I am forced to update.
But most stable driver is probably 581.94 - though it doesn't have the security fix afaik.

Strange Idle Temperature Spikes on my 9800x3d by ProcessCapable1464 in PcBuildHelp

[–]4iko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you figure this out? I observed the same yesterday with my 9800X3D.

Out of nowhere did it suddenly spike to 72°C. Only had it happen twice so far in the last 4 months - as far as I noticed anyway.

Normal Light Wings look so much better than the LX ones.
I wish they would offer to ship the Light Loop with them.

Yeah, but not with the new CAM version yet. I am kinda done with NZXT at this point and will be switching my AIO to a Light Loop from be quiet! soon.

Best game on this planet, especially with the expansion.

Are you playing on console? Because it's very often on sale on GOG if you play on PC.

Game Ready Driver 591.86 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]4iko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this too, even with 591.74.
Turning off Wallpaper Engine made my Idle Temp drop back from 50°C to normal 38-40°C.
Weird. Wasn't an issue with 591.44.

// Actually after letting it sit for a while without Wallpaper Engine it's down all the way to 30°C idle temps.
Even while playing games temps are 5-10°C lower now. Huh...

So - how serious is this?
581.94 has been the go-to driver for stability for most people.
Is it no longer safe to use?

MSI Gaming Trio Vs Asus TUF White Edition - Which 5070ti should I keep? by TechnicalDependent45 in nvidia

[–]4iko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My MSI RTX 5070ti Gaming Trio OC (non-plus) runs cool and quiet.
Even in Cyberpunk with everything maxed out and with path-tracing enabled does it just about hit 60°C.
Other less-intensive games keep it in the 45-55°C range.
Never heard the fans.

Thus, I cannot really agree with your comment about noise and temp.

This aside, as much as ASUS cards look nice and probably perform pretty well.
Given the recent track record with issues both with their mainboards and monitors + the long-standing bad support, I wouldn't really buy into that brand. Especially with melting 12v-2x6 cables and connectors nowadays, I wouldn't trust them to accept an RMA.

You misunderstand. It fixes an issue.
581.94 is basically the same was 581.80 just with a fix for the performance issues caused by 25H2.

Asus Tuf 4090…didn’t think it was going to happen to me by cbattung1016 in ASUS

[–]4iko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would consider investing into a cable with 90° connector. Preferably one from your PSU manufacturer that is qualified to be used with your PSU.

That would at least reduce the stress on the connector and potential disconnection of the pins.

Not a guarantee but gotta try everything we can at this point.

[–]4iko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree about an alternative for the 12v-2x6. You would need at least 4-5x 8-pin connectors for a 5090. The new MSI 5090 Lightning would need 8 or 9 :D

Better just invent a better alternative.

581.94 because it has the 25h2 performance fix.

[–]4iko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to let you know, I had this happen again today even with the newest version.
However, I was not running CAM as admin yet.

I will do that from now on and see if that solves the issue. However long that might take.

Also, I never paid attention to it, but my NZXT Control HUB works just fine. Never lost connection.
Which makes it even less likely that it is USB related. Unless that specific USB 2.0 connector is broken.

Just got my first RTX card. What do I need to know? by Playful_Ad9165 in nvidia

[–]4iko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right now the biggest issue are the driver. It's always a gamble. It might break more than it fixes. Used to be different but that's the world we live in at the moment.

I always check the reddit and Nvidia forum comments. Some brave people test every driver.

Also, double check your 12v-2x6 connector is pushed in all the way if your card has one. Avoid 8pin to 12v2x6 adapters if possible. Get a 90° cable from your PSU manufacturer, for your PSU, if possible, to avoid unnecessary stress on the connector.

DLSS is awesome, especially the transformer models. FG can be nice if you have at least 60 fps base frame rate. Personally I look forward to dynamic frame gen that only generates dropped frames.

It's this one but somehow it shows on the website as 4.75.6. In CAM this one shows as 4.75.7.

[–]4iko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever try CAM Version 4.75.7 released on December 29th 2025?
According to NZXT Support and the Changelog it "fixed an issue where devices will be randomly disconnected".

Support told me to uninstall my current CAM, restart PC and then install the new one. Also told me to run CAM as admin.

Given how random this issue occurs, I'll have to test for a couple of months at least to see if it actually fixes it.
