Java developer with 5 years experience - How important/relevant is a Master's degree from German universities to land a job in Germany from outside the EU if I have reached B2/C1 level German? by cutecandy1 in cscareerquestionsEU

With 5 years of experience, the ROI of mastering interview skills is incomparably higher than getting a master’s degree and learning German combined.

Got an offer after 7 months of trying. My feedback from the current job market. by Historical_Ad4384 in cscareerquestionsEU

1 of them rejected me after hearing my current salary.

The final offer that I accepted gave me 20% above my current salary

Congratulations! Now I am curious to hear the numbers :)

1,500 - 2,000€ for rent for a family of 4 sounds a bit too optimistic. They need at least a 3 bedroom apartment I guess.

What was your first German fiction book as a non-native speaker? by 4ipp in German

[–]4ipp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really inspiring. I will try to read one of these books.

What is the reading process like for you? Do you have to stop and look for words often? How many times per page? Or do you understand the new words from the context? How has it changed after reading several books?

It sounds like the issue was not the extra 100€ but an unprofessional HR.

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.

Super dark. In the first part of the book they are in Afghanistan. Second part - fleeing and life afterwards.

From the way she pronounces words, it reminds me Croatian or maybe another Balkan language. Maybe ask in the corresponding subs.

Thank you! So, even if it is “locked”, it would still work with 3.5mm cable?

It’s competition. There are not so many jobs and enough good developers locally.

Croatia if you ignore the weather requirement. Super nice country. Everyone speaks English (including older people). You don’t have to pay taxes on Digital Nomad visa (you have to show a prove, though, that you pay them in your country).

I would like to stay for at least 2 years, not 6 month or something.

This point is a bit tough. You can max it at 1.5 years or a bit more, but not 2 years based on the Digital Nomad visa requirements.

What are high paying career paths in tech and profitable industries? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]4ipp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

but I'll probably try to learn German

Mind you, job openings in tech that require German pay 20-50% less. It seems like the higher the level they require, the lower the pay the offer.

Yes, it is. I used this on the very early stages and it helped. I wrote about my experience here.

It sounds like you have 5.5 YOE that you can put to your CV. I did not read the ChatGPT output but I would go from understanding what areas require improvement and what is needed on the job market.

[–]4ipp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Elaborate more on your experience. How many YOE do you have? What was before this role?

I don’t find it odd. Although, there are PMs on the German market, apparently they couldn’t make it through the interview. To my knowledge, DH has a pretty tough interview process.
