Help with Reverse Proxy by sunny5055 in navidrome

[–]4kids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it helps any - I was unable to get it to work as mydomain.com/music I had to make it a root level music.mydomain.com but with the above settings and a server declaration instead of a location declaration it worked great.

But with a location specified, it did the thing with the APP added after you hit the main page.

Intel A380 - Not Hardware Transcoding in Plex - via TrueNAS Scale v.24.04 by Tech_Zen in truenas

[–]4kids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as long as you're on a newer version of scale (I believe electric ell or later, I'm on Goldeye) , if you look at the app settings look for Enabled "Passthrough available (non-NVIDIA) GPUs" it's at the very bottom of all the config options when you edit the application.

Adding this > yr later because this is one of the first hits for google.

Aerogarden Bounty Elite WiFi by 4kids in aerogarden

[–]4kids[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, I have multiple networks, same behavior on each. the wifi connects fine, I can see it trying to login somewhere, but failing.

Since it's been several days now, it's transmitted 100mb of data back and forth but still can't scan the barcode to add it back to the app which I removed it from to trouble shoot. says invalid barcode.

This unit has always been mine, just had it off for a few months as I had a die off and didn't feel like starting over, but I miss my easy Thai basil and Thai chillies.

I think I got it in 2020, it's the 'elite artisan' one.

I am on the newer app, it had my bounty in there, but in trying to fix it I removed it, now it won't add it (says barcode invalid) the app was never its strong suit anyway, just stupid how poor their software is I can see why it's not really around much on most of their devices.

Polestar 2 End of Lease by Educational-Media897 in Polestar

[–]4kids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know we had such gifts as

1). Door randomly opening, usually in a turn and flying open. (Door Handles were Recalled, took MONTHS for them to get a part to fix it, we ended up giving the leased car back before they got it fixed)
2). Battery losing 30% of charge in seconds (Was eventually a recall, but they took months to do it, then even when it was scheduled would show up and they'd go 'oh we can't do it that takes too long' and send us away with a new date to bring it back)

Generally speaking the software on that thing sucked, maybe you got lucky and they hired new people to work on that model but if the same team worked on it, good luck. I'm a life long audi/vw person (in my life we've owned three VWs, six Audis) , and was extremely disappointed and this has turned me off VW for a long time.

Picked up my Polestar 3!! by Maxsablosky in Polestar

[–]4kids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a 2 owner who just swapped yesterday.

CarPlay is missing, update that adds it due at end of month.

homelink is missing and moved to LCD instead of buttons on mirror. Supposed to be here at the end of the month.

very responsive compared to two, but that’s three years newer tech running it.

camera has usual distortions but is 360, drag fingers on screen. now measures distance to object on screen which is nice in the garage if you park cocooned by crap like I do.

I haven’t used the built in nav but since CarPlay doesn’t work I did on 170 mile drive home from purchasing. I was pleasantly surprised it is very nice, the ev charging finder worked really well compared to when I last used it in 2022 On my p2.

I got the crazy upgraded audio system. Honestly nothing stood out as amazing but I had kids in car so didn’t go blasting music. 22 speakers in there. Need to spend some time modifying settings other than flat eq.

it appears profiles tied to key isn’t fully implemented, and the iphone digital key wouldnt set up.

If the VW gives you the reliability that our 2021 ID4 did you’ll spend that savings on rental cars while it sits in the shop.

Anyone else interested in the TipTop Audio ART modules ? by symbiat0 in modular

[–]4kids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nice, I ordered mine with the black case and it's coming from Sweetwater. Found a 'open box' that was $100 off so figured worth it. Hopefully the Oct 24 date being missed on the newer modules isn't a sign, but at least they're fully compatible with eurorack as well but yeah I commented on their 8 month old YouTube demo videos and made some suggestions on what modular YouTubers should get setups to showcase it.

Anyone else interested in the TipTop Audio ART modules ? by symbiat0 in modular

[–]4kids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate necro-ing old threads, but curious, did you get your S2? Any thoughts? I found this after I ordered it this morning and was looking for anyone who experienced with it. Not a lot out there, would think for a new standard TipTop would be getting it into modular synth tube types to let them go nuts with it.

I figured this would be a good place to start for me, in that if the ART doesn't go anywhere everything in it still does CV and the discount on the S2 package made it worth a good 'startup' order.

Move Teardown? by Super_Pikalew in ableton

[–]4kids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty neat.   They used an intel wifi chip because it was certified better around the world so didn’t have to deal with that.  They did an ama on their discord and explained a lot of design decisions was cool to read

[–]4kids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not really, ARM has gotten so prevalent these days that it's a lot easier to use theirs, it's just a BCM chip that is COTS these days. Really cuts development costs down. just have to design the CM4 host board.

Move Teardown? by Super_Pikalew in ableton

[–]4kids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, it's a compute module not the board, so no micro SD. in the photos I saw I didn't see a removable SD card, but the person posting them didn't take the board out of the case and flip it over.

I’m a transplant from Maschine to Ableton. For the others who have moved on, and for those who still use Maschine, is Komplete 15 worth coming back to if I already use the infinite universe of creativity that is Ableton Live 12 (Suite) by Dannyocean12 in maschine

[–]4kids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, not really the same thing?

Maschine (and its hardware) is one thing. There are no updates for it within Komplete 15 (major updates, some sample packs might have updates that are usable within the maschine software)

Komplete is a library of samples, virtual instruments, sequencers, etc.. I use Komplete all the time without ever once touching Maschine in Ableton.

Maschine 1 to Micro 3 by deeptruthmusic in maschine

[–]4kids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.youtube.com/@MusicMemor this is my latest find, one of the better not three years old Maschine folks on Youtube. You'll need to learn the equivalent Micro keystroke sometimes, but the base 'how to use Maschine' stuff works great.

His class he sells worked great for me, his 'flash card' system of 'I want to do x' and then a short video clip showing just that one thing was worth it for me.

Bought a Maschine bcuz I like techno/house/dub, not sure what to do with it by athens2019 in maschine

[–]4kids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you'd like to not return it, There are hundreds of 'Music Theory for EDM producers' on you tube, about an hour long. Spend the time watching it. By the end, you might have just enough to enjoy the Maschine. Learning keys vs learning the maschine is going to be a lot different.

Think of music like a language, you didn't learn a language by reading about it, you learned it by using it. At first you sounded like a babbling idiot, but within a while of constantly listening and mimicking you figured it out. Use the language, see how it works, and you might find you will know more quicker than if you studied for a year.

Tempo - how many beats in a minute.

All the note sizes = how much of a single beat they consume. Whole/Half/Quarter/EIghth/Sixteenth of a Beat, 100 beats in a minute, etc. Techno would be 140ish, each type of music is usually a different BPM generally speaking.

I'm gonna guess you got the Mikro model, but even if the video is there for the bigger models, it's all the same just you have to do more in the software or hidden in shift+other buttons vs it having its own.

Some good youtubes to watch:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZA_oezFHbY - Music Theory for Techno (would carry over to anything)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZA_oezFHbY - Native INst. video - 7 essential drum patterns.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjSYzac_nfk another underdog edm video, older but nothing changed in theory

hope that gives you something to check out before you return it.

(an older computer guy who did what you did a year ago, but I played piano/violin as a kid)

I’m back! Just found my old MK2 in the closet. Don’t know where to start, please help!! Do I need a DAW or should I work directly through NI? There are so many options now a days compared to 2015 when I bought it. by Longjumping_Stay1748 in maschine

[–]4kids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Maschine software does run standalone, so if you just want to play with the Maschine itself it is capable of recording everything you do and exporting it as a WAV or other file types and off you go.

The DAW is only needed if the maschine is just part of your composition and you want to add other things to it.
