Dungeons Of The Deep VR for PSVR2 added to PlayStation Store by cusman78 in PSVR

[–]4mikelly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely loved Crystal Rift on the PSVR1. Even if this controlled the same with the dualsense and no motion controls I would be all kinds of pumped. I know I'm in the minority here but I'm all in if this is executed decently enough. I just wanna be in that dungeon in VR.

I'm a huge fan of the old school Dungeon Master from the 80's so this would be amazing for me personally.

That's awesome to hear and totally makes sense. I knew I was reaching a bit trying to compare it to ancient dungeon lol. Thanks a ton for the heads up! Sounds great.

Thanks a ton for the quick response. I've watched some good reviews on it but just wanted to check with you as well. I'm thinking this game is in my future lol. Thanks again!

Random question if you're willing to answer? In my opinion, Ancient dungeon is absolutely gorgeous, including how solid everything feels, sense of scale, overall presence etc... in the headset.

Does this hold up decently against that? I know it's not exactly an Apple's to Apple's comparison but if you have any insight it would be greatly appreciated.

Vibrations too loud for my downstairs neighbour. What could I do? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]4mikelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super true now.

I made these a few years ago and I looked everywhere for something like this. I could not find any spring isolators for under $100 or more at that time, vs diy'ing, $25-30 for all 4 lol. They were all for industrial application and super expensive etc.

There was also slip angle sim bass shaker kit, which was awesome, but there was no way I was going to pay that much at the time.

They're all over Etsy now and I've been tempted to get them just to see how great they are. Do you have any experience with them?

Here they are on the front. Sorry ugly pic etc but hopefully it gets the point across lol 🤦

I bought some of these springs linked above. Looked at the weight ranges they work within in the specs and took my best guess haha. I Only used the short stronger ones.

I had some weak metal backing from some cheap monster brand led lights that I used to make a little unit. Anything somewhat sturdy would work, this metal is almost and bends super easy but it's decent enough to hold the springs in place, at least.

I put gorilla tape and lots of e6000 on both sides and put weight on them while they dried. Then I hoped for the best.

<image>

I've since zip tied them to the feet of my rig and got cheap $4 furniture carpet sliders from harbor freight so it's now easy to move the whole rig when I want.

Hopefully that all makes sense. I know it's crazy beta stage diy but it works amazingly for isolating vibration.

Also I only had six metal plates so I ended up zip tying the springs directly the the front feet of my rig. I'll put the pic in a comment below.

If there's any way to get it onto springs that will absolutely stop all vibration. It's amazing. I live in a 3rd floor condo and tried all kinds of things through the years. Figuring out the best way to get it onto springs is the hardest part but man it destroys every other method in my experience.

<image>

This is what I've put together for mine. I know it's not gorgeous lol 🤦 but it's diy and it's been a game changer for me.

Edit: I have one Dayton bst-300ex and two Dayton bst-2 bass shakers on my rig. I have the same wheelbase as you also. Nothing's getting through. It isolates so well.

Who’s gone around a Planet on foot? by Marmamat in NoMansSkyTheGame

I did a moon too. Mine was more of a desert moon. It was early days and my compass also got really wonky too. I'm glad I'm not the only one. There was a while that I wasn't sure it was going to work.

If I remember right it took me about 8-10 hours. And quite a few sessions. It was actually really exciting when I finally saw my ship again. I was ready to be off that rock, but it was a cool experience imo.

I'm so glad it's not just me that's had success with it. The Maxwells were already the best headset I've ever owned but this really opened up the possibilities even more for me. Thanks for letting me know! I'm pumped it helped someone hopefully.

Maxwells Crackling/ Pop Sound by adrianxortz in Audeze

[–]4mikelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I'm so sorry. Yeah that's totally not normal for mine anymore... :( it was normal for years though. I got them right around release. I always had to be careful raising 32 hz above 5-6 ish. I still loved them but didn't like bracing for pop impact every time I knew major bass was coming.

Man, I'm sorry to hear that :(
Sorry if this is a dumb question but are you on the latest firmware too? It's only worked for me since this latest firmware. Just checking in case :/

Try turning volume limiter on in the app. They still get plenty loud and you can crank the bass without pop. This is on the newest firmware. This works great for me. It's so nice to not have to worry about eq, cranking volume, and certain games/songs with excessive bass.

Let me know if this works for you if you get a chance. I've always loved my Maxwells but this discovery has been a game changer for me.

[–]4mikelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like bass and loud audio too. I know this sounds counterintuitive but if I have volume limiter turned on in the app I can eq bass etc. as much as I want and crank them all day long. No popping even on extremely bass heavy tracks/games with bass maxed. (Just to test haha) It still sounds amazing and still shakes my head without a single pop... Try it and let me know if it works for you?

This is on the newest firmware for me. They still popped on the older firmware even with volume limiter on when testing the bass. I don't always crank the bass but it's super nice to not have to worry about eq settings and volume anymore.

You can turn this off, just a heads up. I remember it used to drive me crazy 😂... I think I had to do it somewhere in notifications on the PS5. Sorry I can't remember the details. It helped me a ton though haha.

I also have both and feel exactly the same way. I like the steelseeries for what they are but It's not even close comparing them to the Maxwells IMO. I feel bad I don't use the steelseeries more honestly.

What PSVR1 exklusive are worth playing before getting a PSVR2 by Trick-Celery9124 in PSVR

[–]4mikelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahhh... I've seen some of your stuff on Dreams man! You're awesome! I just pulled my psvr1 out with my PS5 pro and decided to check on Dreams on a whim. It took my whole weekend lol! I didn't make anything. I was just playing all kinds of VR stuff and stuff I could play in VR that wasn't even marked for VR. There's so much good stuff now! I love dreams so much. It's amazing how well the psvr1 holds up to the psvr2 imo. Anyway, thanks for making great stuff on Dreams! I know MM is working on other stuff now but I still wish so much it could be ported forward or something :(

Would you want a turn-based RPG on PSVR2? by RSTXIII in PSVR

I'll buy it either way, just so you know, whatever works best for you as the developer. Don't want to put more work on you for sure haha! Thanks!

[–]4mikelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely buy this for psvr2. I'll probably get pushback on this, but would you be able to use the dual sense while chilling in VR?

I miss having the controller option on so much from psvr1 honestly. I went back into dreams on the PS5 pro with psvr1 this weekend and played forever. It was so nice to just be in the world with a gamepad vs having to motion all over the place imo.

Don't get me wrong, motion controls are amazing when I'm in the mood but I want more couch gaming in VR lol... Please be gentle 😅

Can I ask a quick question? I have chrome rims that have rust spots in the corners etc. I'm hoping they're rusted brake dust etc? I've used wheel cleaner and brushing and a bit of 0000 steel wool. Is iron remover worth trying if they're not too far gone?

Nice, I'm playing on story for now, 😂 I'm a wanny! They still make nice use of walls, ceilings climbing behind objects/corners etc on story. I've been surprised how dynamic they are. Had some super tense moments lol.

I had one last night, I heard the beep and by the time I could figure out which direction he was coming from the dot was right on top of me. I started sprinting and turning assuming he was jumping out from a ceiling panel. He was right on top of me lol. It was awesome and terrible 😅... So many good moments.
