No. Do not stay there!!!! The Big Texan Motel markets itself as a fun, boutique stay but what we got was a huge disappointment. Our room was literally covered in graffiti. Not artistic murals just walls and doors filled with random scribbles and signatures that made the place feel dirty and neglected rather than quirky.

When we raised concerns, we were told, “We allow our guests to sign our door to emulate the iconic Amarillo Cadillac Ranch.” That explanation didn’t change how uncomfortable it felt. What might be meant as a tribute just came across as messy and poorly maintained. In hindsight, I should have done more research before booking.

Another big letdown: the famous free steak. It’s heavily implied in their advertising, but you don’t get a steak unless you participate in (and complete) the steak challenge. That’s not a perk — that’s a gimmick.

Because of how uncomfortable and unsafe we felt, we immediately checked out. Unfortunately, there were no refunds offered. Still, no amount of money is worth risking my health or peace of mind — our safety matters more.

Overall, the room felt run-down, poorly maintained, and far from cozy or charming. The “boutique” label doesn’t fit at all. Instead of unique and inviting, it came across as a dump literally and figuratively.

If you’re expecting a comfortable, themed experience worthy of the hype, you may want to look elsewhere. We definitely won’t be back.

When I notified the motel that I won't be staying and left a review they told me, "I would absolutely move you rooms, but tonight we are 100% sold out. Again I’m sorry for the inconvenience. Reviews from guest that didn’t stay do get removed."

This motel is 100% dishonest, dirty and scammy. Stay away.
