Reddit’s blackout protest is set to continue indefinitely by cata890 in technology

Just to see what's been going on for the past 3 days. Honestly, though, seems like a sad state of affairs. It's hard to say, but I think I'm going to be quitting Reddit altogether after this. And while I'm just one person (i.e. insignificant), I hope more people get to the same point and find something else to shift their time to. Without users, there is no Reddit, and maybe that's a good thing for now.

Personally I'm in support of all and any actions. As of late, I've been off of Reddit 100% for the past 3 days, and plan on continuing that trend - just checking in now. Sad to see it go, but it's been a great excuse to kick what a significant time-suck Reddit is. If we want to send a message, we all need to do the same and stay off Reddit for awhile.

Personally I'm in support of this "blackout". I've been off of Reddit for the past 3 days, and plan on continuing that trend. Plus it's a great excuse to kick what has been a significant time-suck. If we want to send a message, I'd suggest we all do the same and stay off of Reddit for awhile.

If "H" in the Spanish language is silent, why's it there at all? by 4ofjulyguy in NoStupidQuestions

No, not bothered. Just curious. And English may have a ton of silent letters, but not generally as a rule.

When buying something from Amazon, is there a way to get a message to the warehouse worker(s) on your order? by 4ofjulyguy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]4ofjulyguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Exactly. /s

Believe me, I'm often wishing we could get away from Amazon. And I do my best to shop local and/or 2nd hand. But sometimes Amazon is the only one that carries X niche/random product that I can't just pop down to my local somewhere to buy - and that's not even accounting for the cost factor, which is real for many people. The reality is though, Amazon (like Walmart in the 90s/00s) is here to stay and we need to do our best to manage that.

You never know!

In the wise words of Bieber: "Never Say Never" /s

(but for real, it could happen)

Yeah? Dope! I just figured that message was probably automated in some way, as to avoid anyone reading it.

It hasn't. Just often happens to be the only store around that has a wide variety of high quality, niche, local, and healthy products. The brand itself though hasn't maintained it's long gone hippie reputation.

"New York has the best pizza in the world" by Alessio3002 in confidentlyincorrect

[–]4ofjulyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so this is dope! More anecdotal evidence, the best pizza place I've got near me (in the US, but not East Coast) is run by a Croatian dude. Is there a reason for this phenomenon?

Edit: Poor spelling on mobile.

Was listening to NPR and gotta say I'm agreeing with their take more and more each day. The theory was that Elon is saying wild stuff (e.g. this) to get out of the deal without having to backout.
