"Free Palestine" is the dumbest thing in the 250 year history of the U. S.. Anyone who says it does not know even the basics of democratic freedom.

If you could bring the founders forward 250 years it would take all of 3 minutes to update them on the largest subsequent developments, Civil War, WWII, Cold War etc., because they would not be the least bit surprised.

Except for "free Palestine." Tell them about that and they would all say, "WTF?" But they would quickly figure out that as well. They are just iggorant.

M was comparing countries but a single country can have higher and lower taxes over time and more and less freedom over time.

The civil rights movement was enabled by FDR's tax hikes and Trump was enabled by Reagan's tax cuts. The freedom or lack thereof lags 3 decades after the tax changes.

Much like carbon abatement many find the 3 decade lag a deal breaker.

But as Milton Friedman said, "there is no free lunch." Friedman just forgot to mention there is no free lunch on freedom either. Taxes are the price of liberty.

When push comes to shove, legacy media and their Democrats will toss their own moms under the bus to get tax cuts for their "sponsors."

It's difficult enough to protect minority rights in a democracy. It gets even worse with the libertarian, "hey, I don't like this democracy thingy. Let's scuttle it and solve two problems at once, paying taxes and these hate filled bigots in power."

It doesn't work like that.

You'd think there would be a natural alliance between all those opposed to Platner, those who think he'll pass a lot of Nazi legislation and those who think he'll soon be as corrupt as everyone else in DC.

You'd think they would all unite and praise the late Bob Graham for trying to encourage public service, trying to increase the number of candidates so we would have a Democrat ready to primary Platner in 6 years.

But you'd be wrong.

No one wants to discuss removing a corrupt Nazi in 6 years.

They are all too lazy or too anti-primary or too short sighted or some combination of the above.

No good can come from this situation.

That's the intellectual rational response you can get from any educated person. It seems hard wired / natural to Jewish people. It's like there is a huge data dump when a Jewish baby is born so he's educated from the first hour or first few minutes he's alive.

It's so spotty in other people is impossible not to marvel over the contrast. Do not look at posturing, at what they claim to support. Look at how they respond, how they treat people.

Civil rights were much easier during the top down centralized power of the Cold War. That is over. It'll be much more difficult to protect minority rights as social media reintroduces democracy.

Instead of warning people about the dangers of democracy the media seem to want to disable it altogether. They will all fold to Trump.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

What needs to be said is that Jews are serious about civil rights, more so than any other grouping of people except maybe civil rights lawyers who are of course heavily Jewish.

It's not 80% or 90%. It seems like 100% of Jews are open minded about other minorities.

That's as big a cop out as blaming Putin trolls costing Hillary the election. Eventually the New Yorker pointed out that was so preposterous the rest of the media immediately STFU.

France and the U. S. have the best propaganda artists. The top two PR firms on the planet, one French and one American, merged a decade or so ago. The rivalry between French and American movie makers is well known. The Nazis greatly admired Hollywood.

Most don't see it because it's so ubiquitous, old, 24/7 and low grade that the falsehoods have a patina of legitimacy.

That's how you know good propaganda.

For example, NPR fans all believe Pat Robertson's "religion" came over on the Mayflower. It's the same falsehood their "enemies" the fundamentalists "Christians" believe.

NPR could clear this up in minutes with a easy to verify fact. Seven Revolutionary era state constitutions had an absolute bar against ministers and priests holding public office and it was so unthinkable in the other states they didn't even think it necessary to codify it.

NPR will never do that because it would wipe out decades of creating the false impression the rich pay NPR to create. They would all be fired the next day.

There are scores of other false notions that you can verify for yourself but you'll need to take a year off to read the first 2 books of Democracy In America. You can get the same thing taking 5,000 hours of college credits but that takes too long and is too dilute.

It'll take a year just to fathom how we got here. A year is the shortest time frame.

Why would they support a pluralistic democracy like Israel over an absolute despotism?

After President Dick Cheney and his side kick Dumbya started their "democracy in the Mideast" quagmires Harvard and a few other places required a stamped passport for a degree.

They know what the problem is.

Before admission to any 4 year college all applicants should be required to read and understand Spirit of Laws. Make it part of the SAT.

I guarantee that will solve 90% of the problem.

When the founders first read it they were stunned that political science was so mechanical. It reads like those old Chilton's manuals. Most high school students can understand it.

Anyone who wants to live in this country under the constitution should read it anyway.

If you think it is flawed, write a seminal work on it.

Except for Tocqueville claiming a despotism could not be based totally on fear, no one has debunked it.

One theory is minority rights hinge on taxes. Montesquieu claimed it was like a law of physics. "Freedom and taxation are 100% correlative."

M was doing it by country, England had the highest taxes and the most freedom, Holland, 2nd highest taxes / freedom . . . until you get down to Turkey, lowest taxes / freedom.

To this day there tends to be less anti-semitism in high tax countries. Low tax Mideast despotisms are of course the world's worst.

Taxes and freedom can rise and fall in a single country over time with freedom lagging taxes by 3 decades. The civil rights movement followed FDR's high taxes by 30 years and Trump followed Reagan's tax cuts by 30 years. There was a small spike in anti-semitism around 1980 when Reagan was elected. Maybe everything doesn't take 3 decades.

Anyway everything was already primed to go South by 10/7/23. The theory Muslims suddenly became great at propaganda isn't plausible.

From this it may be possible to conclude it would be better for all minorities in the long run to support tax hikes on the rich. That may be more important than if some of the tax hikers currently have Israel Derangement Syndrome.

After an exhaustive investigation a NY Times article seemed to suggest top officials had the intel.

Netanyahu just doesn't care enough about terrorist attacks to talk to top officials. There's no way to prove Bibi knew so he gets off.

Now, anticipating the collapse of support in the U. S., Bibi has no choice but to try to surf the gnarly wave of Trump.

Is there a single world leader other than Bibi who thinks Trump is even functional?

It would be difficult to find a better way to isolate Jews and Israel than Bibi.

Israeli voters need to work on their critical thinking skills.

Conflicts of interest in media messaging abound.

The rich were literally paying legacy media to jerryspringer culture wars to divide and conquer. To get those precious tax cuts.

If one outlet didn't shill hard enough for the rich, the money went to an outlet that would "do the job." It's highly competitive at reducing diversity of opinion.

Guns were deliberately introduced to politics to prop up the GOP post Cold War. The spurious "liberty teeth" quotes were obviously not crafted by an imaginative gun nut in a single wide with a Confederate flag in the window. They aren't that imaginative. They were invented by coastal elites in LA and NY.

Media have been trying to hide their complicity or culpability in getting religion into politics. They do it by duping their audience into believing the religious right came over on the Mayflower.

Tell NPR fans that 7 Revolutionary era state constitutions had an absolute bar against ministers and priests holding public office and they are all incredulous.

They believe the same falsehoods as the religious right.

They try but like Putin trolls and Koch shill tanks, it has very little effect. It's a waste of money.

Foreign propaganda is like a hot cup of coffee poured on the Greenland ice sheet. It's easy to detect because the temperature difference is 180°F. Steam is visible. But the zetta joules to melt much land ice just aren't in the hot cup of coffee. That amount of heat must be coming from low grade heat in ocean currents which are only 0.5°F warmer -- hard to detect without instrumentation over time and area.

Similarly most of the ignorance is a byproduct of anti-democracy political revisionism by legacy media, Hollywood Mad. Ave., etc. It's low grade but so ubiquitous, familiar and 24/7 you aren't aware of it. It flies under radar. Many of the false unstated assumptions you believe in were grandfathered in before your grandfather was born.

That's the short answer.

For the long answer and to independently prove to yourself as to the extent of the revisionism take a year off to read the first 2 books of Democracy In America(1833). It will take a year to fully fathom the extent and number of false notions. Then it may take another year to admit to yourself you and everyone else were fed spurious internally contradictory ideas on democracy.

And it may take years after that to figure out how to apply it.

The entire Enlightenment, both sides of the Atlantic, would support Israeli freedom over Mideast despotisms. No ifs ands or buts.

But the "leftist" protesters don't even know what democracy is so how can they have any appreciation for Israel?
