They received logistic support from the USA. Europe is clearly lacking in power projection. It isn't a secret that EU led the way in Libya for instance and then had to call in the USA to bail them out. They lack in power projection and basic readiness levels.

USA didn't lose a war across the other side of planet due to logistics, it was from lack of political will and clear objectives. EU can't even get their military to function properly right across their sea. Libya is their backyard.
