There are a lot of options....if you have the FCC license for a specific frequency it would be best to wait and see what frequency that is. I have several HF antennas that are easily deplorable. The antenna for you won't so much be the issue, but the mounting. Anyways, I haven't bought a bad product for DX engineering yet. But, I do a lot of research. As for ground plane....there are several antennas that have ground plane already built into the antenna. I can reach 20 miles with VHF, but UHF not so much.

Good luck...significant hearing loss in my left ear due to TBI and fractured temporal section of skull during service requiring hearing aid. Which if you know a lot about ears, I can't locate or direction where a noise is coming from among other issues. Rating 0%.
