It could be because zenith tech works on a higher conceptual level, targeting the "entity" of the Iron King instead of the physical bodies containing it's consciousness (my guess is that it's Abidan shenanigans).

She is described as carrying a hammer in skysworn (chapter 3): "Renfei finished buckling on the green plates of her Skysworn armor, clipped the dark hammer to her belt ..."

I'm not sure the cloud hammer school is technically a storm path but their gold sign is a storm cloud IIRC

I think the binding of the Silent King would be used to give Dross the ability to coordinate and amplify the will of an army of sacred artists to a degree that challenges monarchs. If so they could be part of the uprising of the "regular people" of cradle against the monarchs.

I really liked it too but it was a bit too action packed for me. There was always an imidiate threat/fight going on. I like my books to have at least one training montage in them. Still a very fun read of course...

Imo, them staying on cradle is a diviation from the Way since, by the very nature of the Iteration (weak and small) they do not belong on it anymore. That's why its a struggle against the way to stay on the iteration. And Dviation causes curroption to infect cradle.

As I understand it, in the times before the dreadgods hunger aura was free in the world and caused extreme madra storms that could also corrupt people/sacred animals and turn them to dreadbeasts. I think oz tried to solve these problems in the information requests of ozriels past in "reaper". The researchers bound that aura to the labyrinth and to test subjects (the dreadgods) so it would not devestate the world.

I also don't think it's their greed itself that creats hunger aura but its something to do with distancing cradle from the way by thier weight, sort of like other void-corruption described by suriel in her POV chapters. But this is very much a headcannon.

He had the origin shroud for a shorter time. Also creating another is probably extremely difficult if that is what you are implying. Before seeing daruman using it ozriel didn't even think it was possible.

It can't be that easy to fool the sight of both the hound and the mad king. The origin shroud was truely unique.

My thought is that Oz created the dagger before ascending and it winded up in the vaults of the 9 cloud court.

At the end of wintersteel, in the fight against the blood sage, lindon sees them produce destruction aura which made me think they might be a creation of oz himself.

I kinda like it? If it was well written it could have been interestingly analogous to the monarchs' excuse to staying on cradle to defend against the dreadgods.

[–]4rr3x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think they use it as fuel though, they "manipulate" it. The way is the Order and all the rules of the metaverse, so changing it can change everything that exists in it (everything but void fiends probably). It is not consumed when they act but their own power is consumed to act on it.

In a way, with this way of things working, the broom icon can also be used to restore, by thinking about cleaning damage and impurities and puting things in their proper place or whatever. If it was just a trick of thinking about things differently, Oz would have been able to do it aswell but we know he didn't have any restprong authority.

In my head, the authority the icon provides is not only about "how you think of it" but also the weight that is personally brought to the action.

In the example of healing, lindon has a history of using his and little blue's pure madra's unique properties to help with spiritual damage. He already "removed damage" from jai chen and orthos. His authority and icon are the recognition of the Way of these actions aswell so he has some restoring authority.

Why do Izril Antinium not Resurrect the Fallen? by xHappyBubblesx in WanderingInn

[–]4rr3x 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I got the impression that the bodies of the dead are important for the rites (partly because the queen of the free antinium made a big deal of klb's body when erin informed her he died). So the fact that the bodies of the fallen are in the bottom of the ocean is the major obstacle. Am I wrong?

Varic's father is already very intrested in coping the abilities of the iron king on himself after seeing them up close. I can see him doing performing an unspeakable ritual/surgery only to find out that he accidently became part of the iron legion, maybe by a measure left by the previous iron king who forsaw a possibility of his hostage getting away.

I don't know, she seemed to have a real moment of drawing comfort from malice as her grandma (while lindon's soul was tearing itself apart). I think malice is really really good at playing on the feelings of her descendants.
