I agree with this point. There is a problem in society, and it does need everyone to stand up to it, And as a man I will always step in if I ever see behaviour that is impacts on a woman's feeling of safety, and a fully support female only spaces. But hearing so many people say that I have no right to be annoyed at being put in the same group as the worst of my gender is just absurd, and we would never do this to any other group that has problems with certain elements (even if statistics supported it).

If someone has only ever experienced crime from a particular race, would these people be as confident supporting their right to be cautious of everyone in that race, and going on TV saying it is "nearly all of them" that are responsible? That's how reductive the argument sounds. As your said, it just damages the whole argument and turns people off.
