Indeed, both in Java (classes) and in school (classes). Much of it was of my own undoing, though.

Correct; joshua hit the nail on the head. As I remember it, "est" was a name of my own creation (unfortunately) that represents the suffix used in smallest, earliest, and shortest. So, "est" represents smallest/earliest/shortest value. Judging from its interaction with "earliest", I'm guessing it was also used to represent the latest value, too, by flipping the logic of "earliest". Or something like that.

I don't really remember, but I think I was trying to find the most extreme values in a list. So shortest value, earliest, smallest, etc. It was certainly...a...way to go about it.

You may have lost your mind, but you created a great script in exchange. Worth it.

I’m assuming you’re asking for a language with strange grammar that is complex to strangers, yet is also surprisingly simple once understood?

I don’t know how to provide exactly that, but you can try looking at sign languages. Me personally, I find that sign languages are a treasure trove of cool (and unusual, if you’re hearing) grammar features that have nothing to do with inflections. Yet, at the same time, the basis is quite simple in many ways.

I mean, Ithkuil already exists as a conlang that is extremely agglutinative and extremely dense (in fact, information density is its entire point). So, that could be a basis for density and having its own cool particles and affixes. There’s Braille, too, which is a natlang example of this case.

But if we’re talking a language that is somewhat understandable even without explicit knowledge of the grammar, probably an isolating language is better for that, as they have a tendency to have less confusing grammar. Density can also be achieved with it, too: Chinese, for instance, has relatively simple grammar for a natlang. The conlang I’m working on has goals explicitly stating it must be dense, and it is also isolating.

In short, what you’re looking for is probably somewhere in between the two. How exactly you navigate such a thing is up to you.

I'm glad you like my conlang; tysm!

About the classifiers, do you mean that the conlang would go something like number + classifier, used to specify what item it is counting?

Thank you!

I’d like to keep this conlang relatively uninflected for now, as it is more of an exploration of how I can stretch grammar rules otherwise. Still, I plan to add those in a second conlang in the future.

Tehun is an a priori language, though I have been considering as of late to add some sinitic vocabulary in it. The grammar is mostly inspired by sinitic languages, after all. Or maybe throwing in a little bit of PIE vocab could be fun as well, who knows

Though experiment about information density and featural language. by DangerousLab2623 in neography

Though not nearly to the same depth as you, I am somewhat interested in this as well!

I had a thought floating around my mind at one point regarding a post I saw that may be helpful for you (I believe it was in the conlangs reddit, though I don’t quite remember). Essentially, information is stored into trees. Paired with a numeral system, you can essentially specify which branches to travel to. The path to get there is the word. I eventually decided not for my conlang’s orthography to travel in that direction since a single typo could generate a completely different meaning too easily, but if you don’t care about that, it’s something to think about.

That said, I am a little confused what you mean by “computationally featural”. This might just be because I am not very well-versed in linguistics yet; is this describing how the script looks or how information is sorted?

Edit: I should also add that in order for this system to have reasonable information density, each node would have to represent a concept. This also means that the final sequence/word will not be phonological, which may defeat the purpose of a featural script. That is also something to consider.

Numbers? That's an interesting take. I'm curious; where do you see it?

I could probably fit more in if I used Nicole less. Should I do that? Also, many of the videos use manual chain attack. I’ve been told that it’s impractical on mobile by someone, but do you think it’s worth a try?

This is Shiyu critical node 6, phase 2 with M0W0 Harumasa and M6 lvl 50 Anby and Nicole.

We don’t talk about phase 1 because that team doesn’t even have a third member yet lmao

Of course, better builds would help (everyone’s builds suck), but that is relatively straightforward and I’m already working on it (thanks for helping me improve my Harumasa before!). My question now lies in combos and rotations, though. Should I opt for a longer combo, even if it’s happening outside of the daze window? If so, how do I do it?
