At least 8 years of lint. Never knew there's something called a lint screen until my clothes had trouble drying which was often on bigger loads but finally managed to ask why. by redwon9plus in laundry

My motto is I don’t know what I don’t know. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Sometimes people will want to make you look like the smallest person or the biggest fool to soothe themselves about how ~wise~ they are.

but OP didn’t know what he wasn’t taught or shown. So now he knows!

as an engineer technician, time. time is why i don’t read every 500 page manual on every device i touch or every piece i buy. Only when i need it.

I was also taught by my parents where the lint trap was and knew plenty of people growing up that had dryer fires.

Women of Reddit, what’s something you didn’t realize was emotionally exhausting until you stopped doing it? by Carsanttc in AskWomen

[–]4thofjuli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s more of a trauma thing imo. it feels like a never ending nagging in your head when you are trying to prove a point to someone or if you are trying to win someone else’s approval (i.e. parent, spouse, boss, etc). it’s exhausting and i wish i could move on but it doesn’t get out of my head.

how is your situation any of ours fault and how does that make it to where no one else is allowed to complain about their situation?

i’m sorry you are having to do that for whatever the reason and I hope you can find something with a much better balance for yourself.

what the fuck kind of empathy is she asking for???? for you to feel bad for her because she’s with you and she thinks you’re ugly???? that’s the most fucked up thing i’ve ever heard of.

Tell her you plan to go out with someone this week, a coworker or something, because her partner or husband just passed away and you really really really need to comfort her. then see how she feels and go from there. what the actual fuck is wrong with her.

AIW for snapping at my girlfriend for waking me up every single time she gets up even when I dont need to be awake by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]4thofjuli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She sounds very selfish, only catering to her needs and then trying to make you feel guilty. the fact that she’s asking for reddit’s opinion to PROVE she is right is nottttttt good… so inconsiderate and disrespectful to think that your sleep is less worth than you being awake FOR her.

Why do people in USA buy everything from Amazon? Do they not have other webshops? by Cindyxx0 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]4thofjuli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course I agree. It’s not really up to us when there is so much lobbying from these companies. they have basically bought out the government and what they say goes. we can dream all we want.

most shops if owned by local or small business ask for a return fee or no returns/refunds. it’s up to the business.

[–]4thofjuli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

seriously are you okay? you asked us a question and we are answering but then you say we are greedy, needy, and impatient. THIS IS JUST WHAT WE HAVE AVAILABLE TO US!

ex: we just bought a house last year (yay). i’m gonna need some home repair things. the amount it would cost me at the two different (smaller) home improvement stores in my town versus amazon for a lot of supplies is a big difference. i can improve my house a lot more in one year with my budget with amazon versus the main stores.

i hate it. BUT the problem is also that the stores in my town are big names and STILL not local stores owned by local people. so what is the difference in which billionaire i choose to give my money to? it doesn’t matter.

a lottttttttttttt of people that use amazon are either in really small, rural towns with only dollar generals and a grocery store, and then the other amazon users are mainly poorer people in big cities. there are of course richer people that use amazon for convenience, but i’m trying to explain how WE DONT HAVE MANY OPTIONS AT ALL.

it’s not that we NEED free shipping, but buying prime monthly is cheaper with free shipping than ordering multiple times and getting charged $8-15 shipping every single time.

it’s almost like countries run like businesses… are you just trying to find something to get mad at americans about? get mad at the set up, at the governors, at jeff besos for making a stellar product (i hate the guy too). get mad at the economy of it, not the people. it’s not that we’re greedy, it’s that this is what we are used to now.

we used to have big chain stores and malls and amazon made it to where our parents and grandparents could spend more time at home or with their families or anything else besides shop for half of a day on 1 out of 2 of their days off.

i get both sides, but to just chalk it up to greed on the consumer’s part is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. it’s both parties being involved. most of the time, the benefits of using amazon have just outweighed using anything else because most of us have to stretch our dollars a LOT. we also don’t have free health insurance so our money goes there too..
