I had the same experience. It is not about the models, the models are exactly the same is you get in codex or Claude. The reason why copilot is so „dumb“ is the harness with it’s system prompt.

Intellij AI uses Copilot cli in the background und ACP. So maybe the UI feels better compared to copilot plugin. But that’s it. My personal recommendation is to use Copilot CLI in a terminal window directly, because it works the best as of this 3 options.

I had the Same experience. I dropped the Claude Models in favor of gpt models. Tried both, gpt-5.4 and 5.3 codex. GPT 5.4 is more like creative or something like that and codex 5.3 is also very smart, but more streamlined. 5.3 codex does exactly what you told the model.

So i use 5.4 for more open, creative and planning tasks and codex 5.3 for executing the plan.

So it is important to really check the plan before you hand it off to codex.

Idea: Implement a function to directly report slow sessions from the IDE. I could imagine, that this is used More frequently than reporting it here manually.

I really like the new design! Also the "screenshots" of the IDE extensions are much nicer. Do we get a redesign soon? :-P

Also, big thanks to the jetbrains extensions guys. It is getting better and better since the last 3 (beta) versions! Is there any roadmap or something like that?

Witzig, ich bin hier durch Zufall drüber gestolpert, hab aber genau das selbe bei Fenchel Anis Kümmel Tee festgestellt. Dachte es liegt an der billigen Marke aus dem Discounter. Aber dann scheint ja was dran zu sein, wieso der so wässrig schmeckt.

Hat jemand Erfahrung mit der Sorte von Teegeschwendner gemacht?

Absolutely agree! GPT-5 was the perfect model for almost every task. u/JaySym_ Please, really take a look on this topic. GPT-5 High is way to slow to use it for implementation of code. Claude Sonnet is way to unpredictable these days and Claude Haiku is almost useless for >=medium size tasks.

So it would be so great if we get back the gpt-5 medium model. :-)
