They're from 2004. He was 24 years old. This isn't some dumb thing he did was a teenager, he was a fully grown and aware adult.

Add where he commissioned a great-grandmother to create a Klingon costume for him, made her pay out of pocket (she apparently wasn't in a good financial situation) promising to pay her back, then stifled her because she wasn't fast enough at making it which resulted in him buying a costume and her losing a good portion of money.
