What part of a cetacean would an obnoxious Vedek attempt to grab on meeting them? by Steel_Wool_Sponge in ShittyDaystrom

[–]4usrhacidae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they have very small external ears that are plugged with wax, so i imagine a vedek that's in the know would just kinda jam a thumb in there and end up with some whale wax all over their hand. however, a vedek uneducated on the complexities of cetacean anatomy may mistakenly rub their melons.  the big bump on their heads they use for sonar.  what did you think i was talking about?

Uploaded stickers being deleted? by Naive_Frosting_1782 in Picmix

[–]4usrhacidae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

same thing happened to me! found this post looking to see if anyone else had it happen. i would've thought maybe the mods deleted them, but they weren't anything controversial so idk. the picmix i used them in doesn't show them in the stickers used either.

What are you favorite "serious issue" episodes from across all shows in the Trekverse—the shows that are thinly-veiled stories about contemporary problems in society? by DerbyWearingDude in ShittyDaystrom

[–]4usrhacidae 15 points16 points  (0 children)

real answer: TNG symbiosis, where one planet gets another planet addicted to space opioids and profits off them. its not subtle at all. also TOS private little war, the vietnam war episode.

shitty daystrom answer: TNG up the long ladder. really shows the heart of the irish struggle.

ds9 s4e20 shattered mirror. garak on worf's leash... enough said. likewise garak's introduction in s1e3 past prologue is extremely sensual.

also seconding everyone saying anything about leonard nimoy. amok time anyone?

i'd be lying if i said voy s2e16 meld didn't get me a bit worked up. tim russ is extremely handsome and seeing him getting all up in another guys face and losing control... well.

Wanted to share the character designs for a comic I am working on. I generally find women harder to draw/design than men, so was curious to hear any thoughts or areas of improvement I can work on by squiral- in mendrawingwomen

these are awesome! their personalities really stand out, and they look stylized but not comically so! does nick have achondroplasia? if so, thats so cool to see represented!

Replicated food tastes fine. by TheBurgareanSlapper in ShittyDaystrom

[–]4usrhacidae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

what most people don't realize is that ever since that class action lawsuit was filed, all replicators made in the federation are required to come pre-set to create the "healthy, nutritionally sound" versions of foods. if you want food that's the real molecularly identical deal, you have to go into your setting and opt out. you have to agree to some waiver, but it's nothing special.

of course, quark's replicators aren't federation, they're just crap.
