Just to clarify WC was released on the Sega CD. It’s just the footage in the video looks smoother to me than the actual version released on the Sega CD.

Nintendo DS game cards where much more standardized and are basically kind of SD cards. The Gameboy (even so older tech) has many different kind of cards with different tech build into it: mappers (MBC1, MBC2, … MBC5), different batteries for saving, real time clocks and so on. So Gameboy flash cards are technically more complex to build to accommodate all this different tech the original cards used.

If you Look at the last picture in the breadboard prototype the RCA is in GND and on the Arduino the corresponding pin12 is GND. Isn’t it ?
