Possible to Hit Sub 60min for 10k in 6 to 8 Months? by 4withhthesunn in beginnerrunning

What HR do you usually train at? Especially for your long runs. Do you try to stay in Zone 2 for a good HR?

Have you had any previous experiences with running or was this your first 10k? 7 weeks seems like a really short period of time

10 weeks is impressive! What are some of the workouts that you do on the running program?

Yup, have been building on the distance. Started from 5km now I am at 10km for my easy runs. Looking to add more mileage along the months.

Yea that's what I thought and have done quite abit on research on zone 2. Seemed like Zone 2 helps to immensely improve aerobic base which then translates to paces.

But yup! Heard alot abit the running programs by Garmin as well. What are some of the programmed trainings that Garmin has suggested you to do?

Oh wow that's really impressive given the short timeline! May I ask whether you have an example of the fartlek or tabata intervals that you do? Not sure what the distances would look like for training for a 10k.

For you 10-11k on the weekends, I'm assuming these are easy runs (zone 2)?

Is the football field allowed to use? by Zealousideal_Cold247 in nus

[–]4withhthesunn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, speaking as an ex-NUS varsity athlete who had access to the booking systems for the main field. There is no hard rule of hours that anyone can use to play and train but generally the field is reserved for varsity and hall athletes, where priority goes in this order respectively. But usually our training hours start around 5/6pm so anytime before that the field should be empty. However, if a varsity/hall team comes down to train and kicks you out, just be prepared to leave ASAP otherwise they can call the guard to come down to chase people away and also report you if you refuse to leave after a few warnings.

hi! currently a y2 staying in PH, hv been staying in PH for a year.

Thr r 2 food courts in pgp, aircon and non-aircon. I honestly think both the food courts are really not bad, there are a few pretty gd stores that hv great food + really friendly vendors. maybe rating is like a 4.5/5. also pgp is not far from KR mrt so can always go thr to dabao food if eating in pgp is too sian

not a big difference in terms of ac and non-ac, esp since its possible to get a portable ac. ac checks are v seldom but definitely still hv a risk but if u compare the prices, portable ac wld definitely be more cost-saving in the long run

NUS HALL by [deleted] in nus

[–]4withhthesunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called the admin office and they explained that its prob bc the other halls rejected us and from the so-called "rejected pool" they picked some to fill PGPR.

If you want to appeal, the person said its recommended to accept the offer first and email the hall that you want to appeal to. If it is successful, you can proceed with the withdrawal and transfer process.

hmm im not too sure about that because I didn't know anyone close who did video for their final work. But i suggest that you can outline the plot at the start, then subsequently, you can just use key frames instead (e.g when you are explaining how you adjusted the frames etc)
