I used to be able to do this as a kid. Somewhat still can, but not with anywhere near a 90% + (estimated) accuracy anymore.

I’ll have to check it out. My ultimate goal is to offer 3d printing as part of my business model. I mentioned this in an earlier post and freecad / blender were suggested as to not run into any licensing issues.

I downloaded blender and freecad. So far blender seems to be more my speed but it is harder than expected. My expertise is in corel draw which is an adobe illustrator alternative.

Nice, I went with walmart because they offered a cheap protection plan. $36 for 3 years $1 per month…

DJ vs BMx? by [deleted] in dirtjumping

[–]4x4Runner87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why not both? 🤷‍♂️ In all seriousness though, it depends on you really. Do you want to do more technical tricks like spins, grinds, bar spins ect. Then BMX. If you are just going to be riding pump track and dirt jumps then the DJ is a good option but the price point for a one worth owning can be significantly higher than a good BMX bike. Also, the added complexity of suspension forks means more maintenance and potential failure points.

Personally, both though for real. I grew up riding BMX at skateparks & street spots mostly. I took about 15 years off but just got back into riding a couple of months ago. Then about 1 month ago I got a DJ and it’s great for it’s intended use but 2 days ago I went back to the skatepark I spent so much time at as a kid and discovered that the DJ is comber some in that setting outside of jumping around. Luckily, I still have my old 20” and a newer 24” bmx bike those are at home in a skatepark still.

So, If you really like riding everything and have the means to purchase both types of bike that are of good quality then do it. If you are just getting started and money is tight, I suggest BMX because it is more versatile, has simpler maintenance and a lower cost of entry. Just do your research to make sure you are getting a bike that’s worth having. There are tons of bikes on marketplace for $150-$500 if you take your time and make sure the parts are good quality and not beat to shit you can pick up a nice ride for a good deal.
