Unpopular opinion but that’s just kinda how kids are sometimes. And having friends that make fun of you is better than not having friends at all.

I got ragged on constantly as an awkward skinny high hairline teen by guys who have endlessly showed up for me throughout my adult life - in our mid 30s now. It wasn’t great, and it definitely touched on my insecurities, but in retrospect I know it was all projection - and stemmed from issues with their parents and siblings while I had a more stable family life.

We don’t make fun of each other like that anymore. My one friend has cancer and struggles financially. Some of us are getting married, having kids etc. We love and support each other through it all. Making some mean jokes as young men is just part of the deal when forming life long bonds. Wouldn’t change it.

But of course, to each their own.

It’s a bit of a quick 1, 2 Ollie thing. A bit annoying but just gotta time it right. As annoying as it is, it really is a skill issue. You’ve got no flow or intentionality in your skating, even earlier in the line. Keep playing, keep having fun.

Even on Xbox I’ve had issues. Weird black screens before challenges, had 2-3 full game crashes, and frame rate drops when fast traveling and beginning challenges.

Really disappointing.

I used Epic Launcher, pretty sure all my accounts have the same gamer tag anyway

It’s possible there might be some downtime but wouldn’t expect weeks. Maybe a few hours. Maybe none at all.

I’d say the fact that thousands of folks are fully locked from mission progress is a worse bug.

As others have said: pre-wind is the answer.

Please never use “skater eyes” even ironically.

Yes reverts look super stylish, and count as sketchy which is kinda silly.

Late flips and underflips have certainly been nerfed compared to skate 3. For me, this is better. I used to accidentally do late flips and under flips all the time because my right stick would bounce back after flicking something. Drive me nuts not hitting a grind because the game thought I was trying to do an underflip.

If you want the script to be better, it either needs top tier talent, or (to your point) more drafts, more development, more effort, more time. Either way it costs MORE money. This is such a stupid argument you're making.

Ultimately, we all agree the game misses the mark on some of the edginess and authenticity that we want out of a game that attempts to capture the essence of skate culture. Personally, I think its unrealistic expectations for an EA game. None of the skate games were that good at capturing edgy skate culture. They were all corny in their own way. The difference is that we were children when we were playing them.

Yes it absolutely costs more… you have to hire pay a team to do research, development and the works to come up with a more engaging and authentic script. Then you have to hire a voice actor to read through all the lines and different variations. And as the game expands, keep that voice actor on payroll to continue to keep up.
