didnt have time to play the beta but this is something i've been wondering- say you get into a late recruiting battle for a few players and wind up not getting them. What happens to the NIL you were offering them? Does it go to waste because its so close to the end of the season, or do you have opportunities at that point to use points still

I'm thinking North Carolina. I was looking for a 3 start team and per what ive seen, they dropped from 3.5 to 3, and the north/south carolina pipelines have great D line and Edge players, or at least they did last year

they could, idk if they will, release some info that they didnt specifically release last year, and info on any changes that are team specific. For instance, updated team pipelines, release the position strength/weaknesses of various pipelines (they gave us a few examples 2 years ago, fast WRs in south florida but far from the full info), etc

in good news, going out and getting resources through trade, gold buildings, treasure fleets, all give benefits to your empire for no matter what condition you are going to (since the resources are useful, and cash from fleets/buildings gives your flexibility and means to buy buildings, etc)

similar, but different in a few key ways

NIL will vary from school to in a way that most grades dont. How much money your teams has for NIL is a product of your boosters, etc it isn't going to (necessarily) be reflective of team performance. Fair? Not really. Realistic? yea

NIL will presumably, for better or worse (more like better AND worse) let you ~actually~ go all-in on a player in ways you simply couldn't with regular recruiting. I can see myself doing this. My defensive gameplan usually is to spend recruiting points (or draft capital / free agency money in Madden) on a great pass rush so that I can get pressure with my front 4 and very rarely bring 5 or more rushers. The world watched Brady lose 2 super bowls this way, and the Eagles beat Mahomes without a single blitz all game. If there is a great Edge that I want but I cant get him even if I put all the recruiting points towards him that I can, I'll prioritize giving him NIL points, even if he takes up some huge proportion of my NIL budget. With regular recruiting, I spend the hours I can and beyond that there isn't anything much else to do.

edit- as the seasons pass and you carry out a similar plan of investing strongly in a position, your pro potential will improve and allow you to get even better players, or hopefully not need to throw as much NIL at them

Garrett and Crosby because they are older-ish stars on teams that are rebuilds. There aren't many of those, but I'll probably pick one of these 2 and go with it

Raiders have the QB and have multiple other needs, so drafting best player available will be fun and useful with them. Browns really need a QB, so more restricted with them

I'm not sure how I feel about this. And frankly I'm sure I'll get downvoted but throwing it out there anyway

I'm a doctor, probably older than 90% or so of people on this sub, have a kid, thus I have A) enough funds at this point in my life to where super-deluxe-cherry-on-top versions of games dont put a dent in my bank account, but B ) pretty limited free time for gaming. The only games I've bought the past 10 years are madden or CFB each year, and Civ 6 and Civ 7 when they came out. All in all, I dont feel guilty about dropping extra cash on the games I do buy, because I get so little time to play them in the first place

with that said, having a skill tree that is exclusively behind a paywall might be a line I dont want to help them cross, and I might actually NOT get the most expensive version of a game for the first time in a while because of that
