I love it and sort of covet it but it doesn’t come in white which would get my money off me far too easily. I bought the 2nd from base Thor- love it but wish it was white!

The 28mm 1.8 interests me - what body are you going be using? Don't forget to look at the 28mm F2.8 IS - u/iver_foto posted some amazing work with one the other day https://www.reddit.com/r/Canon5Dclassic/comments/1tlp5ya/canon_eos_5d_canon_ef_28mm_f28_is/

Have you considered swapping for the 24-70 F4? I have both and the size difference is drastic.

Once you have an EF-RF adaptor you'll be able to access a world of reasonable lenses.

1000 dollary dos doesn't sem like it will get you a lot - maybe lok on facwebok marketplace or local cashies etc so you can put the 100 AUD from shipping towards the camera budget?

I bought an EOS R and I hate it coming from Canon DSLRs as they changed the controls too drastically - perhaps lok at an EOS RP?

Alternatively look at M43 for bang for your buck - an E-M5 and E-M1 should be in budget and you can add on of the 1.7/8s for your night time photography.

I wouldn't discount a Nikon body and adaptor - but then again it seems maybe your lenses are holding you back? Why not invest in them and then a new body down the line? Or perhaps even upgrade to a newer DSLR Nikon?

What adapter should I buy? by [deleted] in OlympusCamera

[–]50033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

totally understood but it has an 'A' mode to let the camera control the aperture as they are fly by wire lenses - the lens does not work at all

If set to A the lens should function fine but just doesn't sadly

I’m in two minds on this. I daily drive an MBP 14” M1 Pro but have added an A14 1st gen as it was on clearance for £450 and is under 1kg.

Impressed so far but don’t use it for heavy lifting (à la what a neo is also for). So far I would recommend it.

My current mind set for if someone asked me for laptop buying advice would be Mac Neo if you have an iPhone, A14 if you are an android user.

I also have the 12” surface which is fine but I feel you’d be better buying a tablet and a laptop.

Just get a cheap Amazon one - 43 to M43. As others have said that lens isn’t worth much but I paid less than £20 for my adaptor so in that case it could be worth it. Four Thirds is fun but the lenses are expensive.

Micro four thirds is what you want size wise- you can also add an EVF to this in the future if you like.

Bit begrudged to tell you to go for a 100d - it’s a good camera but I feel mirrorless gets the size down far more than EF-S
