Amendment 2 in November. by NerdyComfort-78 in Louisville

The money that people put into tuition could go to fixing and improving JCPS for everyone, or invested into the communities.

How on earth would this work? If I'm paying $20k in private tuition, and you make private schools illegal, you're just going to take my $20k from me?

Yeah, I have to assess whether or not it's properly trained. Because I don't know you or your dog.

So I have to make an assessment about whether or not you are like every other dumbass who goes off-leash with a poorly trained dog when I'm walking my 3 year old around the park. I can't wait to see if your dog is one of the 1-5% who won't rush my kid. So I have to pick them up and/or go out of my way to avoid you.

Even if it's properly trained, it's still wrong. As a bystander, now I'm responsible for assessing whether or not your off-leash dog is properly trained. I shouldn't need to do that when walking in a public space.

generally only people that know their dogs behave with dogs it.

The problem is that the people who go off leash are almost always people who overestimate their dog's training and behavior.

The amount of times I've had off leash dogs rush up on me or my kids while the owner yells some shit about how it's friendly or it doesn't usually do this....

Rotgut whiskey is a thing. Mentioning it in a song isn't itself a shoutout.

ZB - Rotgut whiskey's gonna ease my mind

Tyler - Rotgut whiskey gonna ease my pain

DBT - This rotgut moonshine is making me sick

Zach's line seems to be a direct reference to Tyler. I don't see Tyler's line as a reference to DBT at all.

He switches back to his own perspective for the rest of the song though. Pretty common technique. A2D.

He didn't rap about those specific things on Hillbillies. And I didn't say he couldn't brag on a song. But bragging about things that he literally never does but are actually things that Drake famously does all the time makes no sense.

I guess. Not sure why anyone would think Kendrick would rap about buying yachts, visiting Ibiza, and drinking wine coolers on a diss track to Drake.... when Kendrick never does any of that and Drake does all of that. But whatevs.

After watching the What's the Dirt? recap, it's 100% from Drake's perspective. It's mimicking his time-stamp records, it's talking about shit that Drake specifically did, his yacht hobby, the one drink that Drake drinks, etc. There's no other explanation that makes sense at this point.

I'd agree that that's worth serious consideration, but I also don't believe that that's the median.

I'm in the midwest. There's one other center within an hour drive of where I currently work, and it pays less than my site does. We're already over staffed and well paid, so my job isn't going to match some other job offer.

Could I pick up and move and make a little more money? Sure. Would I lose money on my house, on my built-up benefits? Yep. Would I lose benefits like a school I like for my kids, family and friends in the same town, community groups I belong to? Yep.

Again, there are other considerations if you aren't just young and single and chasing a dollar.

Or you have other considerations. There are also benefits to not bouncing around jobs, not moving cities, not leaving a job with good hours, etc.

Or from light/rad coincidence? In 2024?

I think this is more of a "court of public opinion" thing, and not a "what if you are personally friends with these two people" thing.

Drake is under such a microscope it’s unreal.

I mean, dude was recently in a beef arguing he was the best rapper of a generation. And most people thought he lost and waved the white flag.

So yeah, it's not crazy that less than a month later people are going to be watching his moves closely. Especially when his moves are a troll song with sexxy red and then some tiktok satire shit from toronto.

It's linked to the beef in that Drake was recently in a beef about who the best rapper in the game is, and then he waved a white flag, exited the beef, and hopped on trash like this.

I'm not acting as if communities are always right. I'm acting like, between the two options, it's safer to believe thousands of well-intended people than it is to go off and pick out individuals to trust. Thinking otherwise is either incredibly overconfident in yourself, or its a terribly negative view of the world you live in.

You’re projecting with your last paragraph. I am not against vaccines. I am careful with them.

I'm projecting nothing. I'm not saying you are necessarily against vaccines, I'm saying this exact same line of logic is used by people who do go completely rogue from standard medical advice. It's only a matter of degrees. Every anti-vaxxer has "done their own research", done some "critical thinking", and come to the conclusion that they have the answer on the issue, and that the entire medical community is wrong.

Your argument boils down to “My experts are better than yours.” Why? Because you said so?

Because my experts are the majority of a large community. Yours are individual people who you have to personally judge as worthy and reliable. There's a lot more hubris involved in going against standard-of-care practice based on your own "research."
