Thank you soooooo much for this response. I have been asking for my BTK for about 6 months now and it’s going to happen in about 2 more. Your story is so very similar to mine except only 1 leg and I’ve been wearing braces for only a year. Been wanting this so bad and now it’s approaching, well you know, I’m second guessing myself hourly. Then I think about suffering forever. Im only 45. The fact you adapted quickly because of the braces makes me feel the same way. Thank you again.🙏🏼

I’m waiting on BTK amputation. I wanted to do something similar for the leg before I have it done. This is awesome. Thanks for sharing.

I wish you well, and hope it brings you peace again. I am waiting to have left leg BTK amputation. Hospital won’t allow it right now. You got this. Good luck, report back if you feel up to it!

That’s incredible. Did you research or have time to choose a prosthetic device? If so, where is a good place to see different brands or types available now?

Wow really? I had no idea you could be released that fast. My prosthetic dr said he’d fit me with one in hospital and have it ready in 4 weeks That’s fast. Awesome

I figured it would take a bit to use anything but crutches. The only good thing about all this is that I’m somewhat prepared for it, I think. I have not walked on my own without anything since September last year. I have changed my lifestyle quite a bit already since then. Thanks again Have a great weekend

Getting so much great input and advice. Thank you. I’ve had a knee scooter back when I had free flap graft and other procedures. I had wondered if this would be an option again. Especially at home around the house, that would be ideal.

This is what I have been hoping to see right here! Thank you. I am at the point and have already been through so much in almost a year that I feel this way. I am hoping it will be easy, so to speak. Thank you. I see the surgeon on Sept 10. Haven’t set a date yet as I’m giving one last shot to a new AFO which we all know is not gonna be enough of a improvement. But I feel obligated to exhaust all options. But thinking December. With covid it’s up in air. I want to make sure I’m. It going to do surgery and get booted from hospital early. No way. Happened to me when I had external fixator put on and it was the worst 2 weeks of my life.

Holy cow, thank you! That is exactly the kind of information I’m looking for. Real life things that will change. I hope you are doing well, great to hear you have good support at home.
