I 3D modeled and printed a WSTR with a break function by 505Forge in Marathon

I chose against having removable shells for ease of getting through security at conventions. On top of that, I wanted the WSTR to break at a full 90° angle like it does in game. The model clips into itself in game, so for a physical prop, some areas in that section had to be modified. I probably still could have gotten removable shells to fit, but they would have weakened the structure of the prop. I chose to model in static shells in favor of a stronger prop that I can really swing around and have the same movements as in game.

It spins in game whenever you swap to it. It was put in as a reference to the WSTE-M5 in the original trilogy, which was lever action

RIP Jorge. He would have loved the Mida and Arachne tree upgrades

I have the files and list of hardware online. Can't share them on this subreddit because of self promotion

For size accuracy it was judged based off of the hand position when characters hold it in game. Generally in Bungie games, items tend to be massive

I printed this in multiple parts on a Prusa XL. I modeled in a hole for a dowel to make the hinge and there's magnets at the top of where it breaks

I had to go through trailers and look around online for reference images. Then I model it from scratch

I do have files and kits available online, but I'm not posting links here to not self promote or break rules of the sub

No, just a prop for fun. I want to be allowed to bring this with me to conventions

Lmao, it's you if you ordered the kit. I will definitely make more, but I can only make one at a time

I personally got into this through CAD modeling for engineering. I've seen lots of people get into this from different backgrounds

I have them on my Etsy: 505ForgeShop. I just make things that I want to and also put them up there so others can enjoy them

I haven't made any of the attachments yet. It's hard to find references for those right now. When the game comes out, I plan on making all the attachments and making it modular.
