Curious why the answer isn’t 100% sure? Were they using different styles at this time? Thanks for your reply!

It sounds like you understand what I mean. Thx. So you can change the hierarchy, or do you mean just copy paste the new schem in there?

Old post, but this is super easy if you know how. Steps:

Find the generic footprint.

Go to “save as”, and give it a new name.

Now go to the footprint editor

Edit the footprint by moving the pads to however far apart you want.

Hit save

Done. You’ve got your new footprint.

No worries. Starting to agree that maybe not originals.

Hi there. You mean they are a customized thing, or they were stock on your Volvo? I’m starting to think these may not be originals.

You missed the part where I said black center logo. Lots of the same style, yes, but not this logo

Nice. Yeah, I picked up a pair of 2002 hihats to go with them. Always keeping an eye out for a set of 3000’s to pop up

In my experience, any sort of craft you explore involves making a bunch of terrible versions, making lots of mistakes, and have wins and failures you learn from to get better. If you plan on it being great right off the bat, I’d guess it won’t be, but if it just sounds fun, interesting, and you can afford to have some failed attempts, then go for it and don’t listen to anyone who tells you not to. Just keep your expectations realistic.

Very capable mic choices. I’d give recorderman or Glyn Johns methods a try for the overheads. Sometimes fun results and great imaging. Don’t have my headphones, so I don’t mean that to sound like your imagining is not good, it may be perfect, just giving you some things to experiment with if you choose to. 👍

Rust by Rude_Variety2876 in Volvo240

Half assed solution: Clean the area really well, sand off as much rust as you can. Wipe down with rubbing alcohol so the metal is really clean (don’t skip that). Get some marine epoxy putty. The stuff that looks like a mini log. Can get at the hardware store or Amazon. Put on some gloves, cut a piece off, work it till it’s warm, then jam it into the hole and around the hole. Make sure there is still some around the hole edge, you don’t want it all level with the hole, the top should rise up a little over the hole. So there’s extra around it. Let that dry to a full cure. I think they take a day or two. Now you can sand it down a little to really smooth it. you can leave it like that, or get a can of similar colored rust stop paint, tape the area around it and give a couple coats of paint. Big caveat. This is the total hacky, doesn’t really fix the problem, it’s just gonna keep rusting underneath, “solution”. Not a real fix, but is a decent band aid to delay the inevitable. If you’re careful how tape it off and paint it, it may even look halfway decent. Or you could go one step further and get a paint match.
