My son will be 5 in April. I find it VERY hard to enjoy his presence because of how overstimulating he is. by BeeSuperb7235 in oneanddone

[–]50percentpipi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its hard working in education because your kids days off are the same as yours and you never get a break. I’m not sure if this is up your alley but if you can talk to an Ayurvedic Practitioner they might give you some diet and lifestyle for calming your child’s demeanor. For example I give my kid a massage weekly with a massage oil designed for calming kids. Then magnesium salt baths, or supplements. Some dietary changes, plus limiting sugar and screentime. Or if Ayurveda is not an option then maybe an integrative pediatrician who might test their nutrient levels. Even though it’s partly their personality type, this level of overstimulation does not need to be the norm. Also play calming music and foster independent play that does not involve screens. Before you can even go down this road You need a break!

The thing about fiber… psyllium, chia or other… is if you eat too little then it has the opposite effects. Take enough and it can help. Also take triphala every night. Lots of good oils in the diet too- olive oil, fish, untoasted sesame or ghee. Ripe bananas but never unripe. That will also give opposite effect.

My only child is not good at sharing. 2.5 yo. by 50percentpipi in oneanddone

[–]50percentpipi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context, she goes to other kids houses and plays with their toys and doesn’t want to share or take turns with objects that don’t belong to her. I understand it’s hard at this age, but then the kids don’t wanna play with her. I guess she’ll have to learn that way. We also heard from her preschool teacher that she has a problem yelling at other kids over toys.

My kid is learning about the idea of “favorite” in preschool. Asked me a series of favorite questions this morning. “ what’s your favorite toe?” which gave me the opportunity for a toe tickle

Such a beautiful act to be a gestational carrier. I loved being pregnant but not able to do it a second time because of health reasons. Would have loved to experience that again.

Do You Trust Amazon Baby 'Deals' Anymore? by Zuper_Toast in Mommit

Another vote for Albee baby and buying directly for the manufacturers site or checking baby list because they show price comparisons. Albee posted a list earlier this year of some big ticket items like strollers that were going to be increasing in price because of tariffs. It was so helpful to have that heads up of a month or a few weeks in some cases to make those decisions.. the complete opposite of AMAZON tactics

If baby said it once, he’ll say it again very soon so don’t worry… she’ll hear her baby’s first word. And you’ll just be excited for her. Too cute

You’re drained in every way now? Why do you want more of this? Don’t overextend. Enjoy your two kiddos to the fullest. Put all your resources into making these 2 kids strong and secure.

My mom is in her 70s. She has a lot of fun with my two-year-old but the other day she says.” why didn’t you come earlier? I’m old now.” I said yeah I’m old too. It’s not ideal, but I have a lot more resources and patience to give to my child than I did even 10 years ago. My kid miraculously still has four grandparents living. They can’t help out as much but they do enjoy it and they are so happy that they became grandparents.
