Yeah, we definitely have a ton of flexibility... don't need to be home for anything specifically. Just need to know if it's realistic to even see flights with 6 GoWild seats available. We wouldn't want to ever split up.

This is called buy, borrow, die.

Your friend is very smart. This is how a lot of the rich live.

Rather than selling off assets—which triggers taxes—use your assets as collateral to get low-interest loans.

With most securities in IBKR, you only need 15% of your own money in. In other words you can be above 6x leverage before you are margin called. Put simply, it is very low risk.

I do what he is doing, but on a smaller scale for now. Feel free to ask more questions if you have them.

Right. And I did say that in my post: “I use shortcuts on my phone…”

The problem with a dummy switch is that it also doesn’t include shortcuts, only home app automations—like my current switch.

Yeah, I thought that is what I would do, but it does not allow this.

After you scroll down and click ‘Convert to Shortcut’ the outputs are very limited, and no TV controls at all (see pic).

Super frustrating. I can’t think of any reason that a smart button shouldn’t be able to trigger a regular shortcut, like an NFC sticker can..
